Aprilia Other description
2008 Aprilia Sportcity 250 i.e., NEW 2008 APRILIA SPORTCITY 250 - FASTER, SAFER AND EVEN MORE ECOLOGICAL, THE SPORTCITY 250 I.E. IS READY TO CHALLENGE CITY TRAFFIC WITH A HIGH-TECH ENGINE THAT SETS NEW STANDARDS IN THE 250-CUBIC-CENTIMETER SCOOTER CLASS. THE SCOOTER THAT CHANGED THE WAY YOU THOUGHT ABOUT LARGE WHEEL SCOOTERS IS NOW MORE DYNAMIC AND SPORTIER THAN EVER BEFORE. The Sportcity concept was unique and original, and revolutionized the approach to large wheel scooters. With 15-inch wheels, sporty engines and a superbly rigid frame, the Sportcity immediately established its ability to combine the comfort of a large wheel scooter with the nippy handling of a small wheel sports scooter, turning daily commuting into a great opportunity for enjoyable, fun riding. The Sportcity was compact, agile, and beautifully finished, with a superb level of equipment and a sporty yet elegant look. Its unbeatable equipment to price ratio and its ability to play the twin roles of urban commuter and dynamic sports scooter led to instant success. The scooter riding public is quick to spot a bargain and the Sportcity 125 and 200 rapidly became two of Aprilia’s best selling scooters. Now the time is right for the sportiest large wheel scooter on the market to move on to the next stage in its evolution. More power, better acceleration, and higher performance mean more fun and more active safety in fast traffic. The ride has become more dynamic yet more relaxed than ever, in keeping with the already successful Sportcity tradition. And now, riders also benefit from a new triple disc braking system and a new engine that is more ecological and respectful of our environment. The SPORTCITY 250 i.e. gives you all this and more. The new 250 i.e. is the first compact large wheel scooter powered by a 250-cubic-centimeter engine with electronic fuel injection, a solution that establishes it as a true leader in engine technology. Amazingly, all this has been achieved without affecting the Sportcity’s excellent quality to price ratio, which remains one of the model’s most appreciated selling points. The highly original SPORTCITY 250 i.e. features an elegant, dynamic design and the very latest, advanced technology. The SPORTCITY 250 i.e. is Aprilia’s answer to those who want a practical, safe but agile scooter able to make light work of city traffic while also ensuring excellent rider comfort and impressively low running costs. What is more, the new SPORTCITY 250 i.e. is designed to broaden your horizons, taking you far beyond the city and into longer range travel. Here is a scooter that simply cannot be described as just another ‘means of transport’. Even if your main requirement remains urban commuting, the SPORTCITY 250 i.e. ensures that you can commute in style and enjoy the sort of sporty ride for which all Aprilia motorcycles are famous.

WSBK 2013: Monza Race Report
Mon, 13 May 2013Eugene Laverty and Marco Melandri split a pair of victories at Monza but the most biggest news from the World Superbike weekend was a strange series of appeals after Race Two that saw Tom Sykes finish third, relegated to fourth and then reinstated on the final step of the podium. The unusual mix-up occurred after Sykes, sitting in third place, ran off track and into the run off area on Turn 5 on his final lap. The Kawasaki rider returned to the track again in third place where he finished ahead of Aprilia‘s Sylvain Guintoli.
Church of MO: 2001 Aprilia RST1000 Futura First Ride
Sun, 21 Mar 2021Twenty-five years ago in a place far away... Twenty-five years ago the Aprilia RSV1000 Mille won our Open Twins shootout, the SL1000 Falco was a staff favorite, and the Scarabeo 150 scooter was “practically Italian sex in a practical package.” Wait, what? Anyway, the Futura was and is a great sport-tourer, but maybe not great enough, since Aprilia pulled the plug after 2005.
