Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 ABS description

Light, agile and powerful, the Dorsoduro 750 ABS is powered by a latest generation engine and boasts the most advanced technology in its class. Through the use of state-of-the-art electronic engine management, Aprilia's compact 90 V-twin delivers blistering performance hardly matched by any of its rivals, with an incredible power output of 92 HP at 8750 rpm and a maximum torque of 60.4 lb.ft. (82Nm) at just 4500 rpm.
The Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 ABS boasts the best braking technology available today. The front brake system, with 4-piston radial calipers, lightweight 320mm floating wave discs ensure shorter stopping times, while their extreme looks, visually express the aggressive power of the braking system. The 240mm rear wave disc is braked via a single piston caliper. Both the front and rear systems have metal braided brake hoses, derived from the aeronautic sector, which eliminate the undesirable pressure fluctuations of conventional pipes and guarantee maximum braking accuracy. On the Dorsoduro 750 ABS, safety is further enhanced by a sophisticated 2-channel Continental ABS system, specifically calibrated to let the rider fully exploit the power of the brakes and the grip of the tires in the dry, so as not to detract from the immense fun of this bike.

Piaggio Announces 2011-2014 Business Plan – More Hybrids and Electric Models In the Pipeline

Wed, 14 Dec 2011

The Piaggio Group revealed its business plans for the next three years with a focus on developing fuel efficient engines and introducing new electric motors and hybrid powertrains. Beginning in 2012, Piaggio plans to introduce a new generation of engines with lower emissions and improved fuel economy. Examples include the new 350cc engine introduced in the Piaggio Beverly SportTouring and the fuel-injected 125cc four-stroke, three-valve engine equipped in the Vespa Quarantasei concept (which the company has apparently, and quietly, renamed as the much easier-to-pronounce Vespa 946).

WSBK 2013: Monza Race Report

Mon, 13 May 2013

Eugene Laverty and Marco Melandri split a pair of victories at Monza but the most biggest news from the World Superbike weekend was a strange series of appeals after Race Two that saw Tom Sykes finish third, relegated to fourth and then reinstated on the final step of the podium. The unusual mix-up occurred after Sykes, sitting in third place, ran off track and into the run off area on Turn 5 on his final lap. The Kawasaki rider returned to the track again in third place where he finished ahead of Aprilia‘s Sylvain Guintoli.

Mega-rare Aprilia RSV250 GP bike on eBay

Tue, 07 Sep 2010

THIS SUPER-RARE 1997 Aprilia RSV250 is for sale on eBay, offered for a gulp-inducing £25,000.The seller says bike was purchased in 1998 through Aprilia Racing by Moto Gold Racing and was campaigned in the 1997 European 250 GP championship series, consistently scoring "top high speeds. "It's claimed the machine was raced by Nobi Iso in AMA in 2002 and 2003. It's since undergone a full restoration and comes with a comprehensive spares package,  Don't confuse this with the road-going RS250 Aprilia; it's a proper GP250 machine, similar to the bikes raced by Biaggi and Rossi in the early part of their careers.
