Suzuki RG 500 Gamma description

Presented for your consideration is my 1986 Suzuki RG500 Gamma. Originally a Canadian delivered example, it shows 28,446 kilometers (17,675 miles) on the clock. Currently registered in California with a clear Title, and registration through January 2017.

This motorcycle has spent the past six months undergoing a comprehensive re-freshening. Mechanically, nothing was left untouched, and it starts instantly and runs beautifully. Many correct original parts were purchased from Lance Gamma, and a new set of replica Japanese bodywork has been fitted. The sale also includes the original complete set of white/blue body panels. It was my intention to re-paint the original bodywork in Barry Sheene's red/white/yellow Heron Suzuki racing scheme, but numerous other auto-related projects have forced me to reduce the number of motorcycles in my collection. As such, I also have a 1987 Ducati F1 Laguna Seca in beautiful original condition, and a concours restored 1962 Triumph Bonneville that are also available for sale.

If you have questions, or would like to view this RG500 in person, please contact me via eBay and provide a phone number, and I will call you back the same day. This is a no-reserve auction, and the selling price will be dictated by the fair market value for this highly desirable motorcycle.

WSBK 2013: Portimao Race Report

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

Marco Melandri and Eugene Laverty split a pair of victories at Portugal’s Portimao circuit while Sylvain Guintoli took advantage of some misfortune to his championship rivals to increase his lead in the 2013 World Superbike Championship standings. Guintoli has been leading or sharing the lead in the championship since winning the first race of Round 1 in Australia, but amazingly continues to lead despite having just that single victory after six rounds. The Aprilia rider has accomplished this through his consistency (Guintoli leads all racers with nine podium finishes in 12 races) and ability to finish each race (he’s the only rider in the top seven without a DNF).

Suzuki Supersizes Chinese Market Lineup with Hayabusa and Boulevard M109R

Fri, 29 Jun 2012

Suzuki showrooms in China are about to look a lot different in a couple of days, with the usual small-displacement single-cylinder motorcycles making way for a couple of big behemoths. The Japanese manufacturer has joint ventures with four Chinese companies offering motorcycles and scooters, primarily small-displacement models. One of those joint ventures is Jinan Qingqi Suzuki Motorcycle Co., which offers models such as the GT125 standard or the QS150 cruiser.

R&G announce cheaper engine case cover kits

Tue, 06 Sep 2011

R&G Racing has reacted to the rising cost of official motorcycle parts from manufacturers by creating money saving packages on its Engine Case Covers. As a reaction to the parts price rise, the crash protection leader has created a kit package on its Engine Case Covers (ECC) – offering an overall saving of more than 10% when compared to buying the items individually. The ECCs are designed to protect the engine cases and the inner workings of the motor in the event of a drop by acting as a sturdy ‘second skin’.By simply bolting over the original items, fitting the durable Engine Case Covers doesn’t require draining any engine fluids or replacing gaskets. Extensively developed in the ACU R&G Racing Suzuki GSX-R600 Trophy, as well as being tested and approved by the California Superbike School in the UK and USA, the covers can allow a bike to be ridden after a crash or prevent terminal engine damage from oil leaks or casing punctures.Protection benefits aside, financial savings for riders are evident by looking at official parts prices; to replace only the clutch cover on a Suzuki GSX-R1000K7 would cost £206 including a new gasket, but all three R&G Engine Case Covers for this bike cost only £143.
