This bike is a legend. Introduced after the huge success of the 500cc H1 triple, the 750cc H2 was an all new bike designed to improve all aspects of the H1 riding experience.

Introduced in 1971 the H2 went through 3 upgrades with the 1975 model being the last of the line and most refined.

It developed 71 HP and very robust low and especially mid range torque.

The chassis featured a new oil-based steering damper and a longer swing arm, which made the 1975 model the best handling of the series.

Styling and color schemes were revised to the most racy and sleek design in the series and the eye-catching candy purple color scheme offered for 1975 only.

MODEL HISTORY from Wikipedia:

The Kawasaki H2 Mach IV was a 750 cc 3-cylinder two-stroke production motorcycle manufactured by Kawasaki

The H2 was a Kawasaki triple sold from September 1971 through 1975.

It became known as "The King of the Streets". A standard, factory produced H2 was able to travel a quarter mile from a standing start in under 12.0 seconds.

It handled better than the Mach III that preceded it.

By the standards of its time, its handling was sufficient to make it the production bike to beat on the race track.

More than any other model, it created Kawasaki's reputation for building what motorcycle journalist Alastair Walker called, "scarily fast, good-looking, no holds barred motorcycles", and led to a further decline in the market place of the British motorcycle industry.

In 1974 the H2B engine was modified for more civilized, but still impressive, performance at the expense of raw top end power.

The race tail was slimmed down from the previous year. An oil-based steering damper and check valve were added.

The power was now 71 horsepower at 6,800 rpm.

The oil injection system was substantially changed with two separate sets of injection lines, unlike the earlier models with one set of lines.

Oil was injected into the carburettors on a separate line with a branch to each carburettor. The oil injection to the bottom end bearings (both main and rod big ends) was retained as a set of three separate lines as before.

A longer swingarm improved stability. The final model had a weight of 208 kilograms (459 lb).

Anthony West Can’t Afford to Pay to Race MotoGP, Mulls Retirement

Fri, 27 Jan 2012

The 2012 MotoGP season is still months away and the world championship has already lost an entry, as veteran Anthony West announced his withdrawal from the series because he cannot afford to compete. The 30-year-old Australian racer was included on the provisional 2012 MotoGP entry list to compete for the Speed Master team on an Aprilia CRT machine. But with the official pre-season test at Sepang, Malaysia, coming up next week, West says he will not race because teams are asking riders to pay too much to race for them.

Kawasaki Teases Ninja H2

Tue, 02 Sep 2014

Kawasaki announced it will unveil a new motorcycle called the Ninja H2 at the Intermot show on Sept. 30 and the evidence suggests it will be a new supercharged sportbike. The Japanese manufacturer first announced last November it was developing a supercharged I-4 engine at the Tokyo Motor Show, and the Ninja H2 announcement suggests that’s exactly what we’ll see in Cologne.
