A rare find ... great example of a classic Kawasaki. Perfectly maintained and a beautiful ride. Kept original. Needs nothing. New Metzeler Lasertec tires. Custom rack included. Tail bag (pictured) not included.
This is a D2 Model - Differences from 1978 D1: Chrome was used on the headlamp shell, clock lowers and chain guard. The rear tailpiece was dropped in place of a painted rear fender. The front exhaust downpipes were crossed over and the mufflers were made a bit shorter. The rear wheel was now a small but fat 16-inch item for that all-important custom look. In America there was also a D1A model in 1978 and an E model in 1980, which were very similar but did not have as much equipment. The D2 also got the drilled brake discs and sintered pads from the C3 model of this year as well as the new "automatic" cam chain tensioner mentioned in the B3 Don't miss this one! which recalls Triumph customs and yet still complements the Harley-like
suggestions in the tank and rear wheel. When you're done looking, you can
climb on and know that it will be over two hours before the saddle even
begins to feel stiff. The handlebar looks right but isn't radical enough to
ever cramp your arms or bend them at awkward angles. The lean-look front
fork glides smoothly over most bumps and the rear shocks keep the ride
comfortable, too. |

What We Ain’t Getting: 2012 Kawasaki ER-6n
Tue, 11 Oct 2011Kawasaki announced its 2012 street model lineup this week announcing a number of updates to its ZX-14R, as well as the Vulcan 1700 Voyager, Ninja 1000 and Ninja 650. Absent from Kawasaki’s U.S. offerings is the naked version of the Ninja 650, the ER-6n which has also been updated and will be available in other markets such as Europe and Canada.
Nissin ABS Modulator Recall Explained in NHTSA Documents
Wed, 24 Jul 2013Earlier this month, we published news about an issue with certain Nissin anti-lock brake system modulators that have been connected to recalls in Canada and Japan from Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki, with the possibility of it expanding to further models and manufacturers using the same component. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has now released documents from American Honda’s recall of ABS-equipped CTX700 and CTX700N that shed some more light into the issue. According to the documentation, a manufacturing error may have resulted in Nissin ABS modulators being contaminated with aluminum chips.
