Kawasaki KZ550LTD description

Original Owner, All Original 1981 Kawasaki KZ550 LTD, with 6631 ORIGINAL MILES.  The Bike starts and runs very well.  It was in storage unused for over 10 years until I took it out this spring, and began to clean it up and restore it.  The tank has been cleaned and lined, the fuel lines have been cleaned and purged, new plugs were installed, oil changed, and a new battery was installed.  The bike starts right up, and runs well.  If I had the time, I would repaint the tank, and put a new master cylinder on the bike, and it would be good for any trip, and many years to come.  This bike is a classic, and is one of the original 4 stroke, (4 cylinder), bikes to be introduced into the mid sized, production market, and was ahead of it's time when introduced.  It's still very much a classic, and looks it.

The seat is in great condition, with no tears, or issues.  I've included a close up of the tank that shows the rust coming through the paint, which is why I would suggest repainting the tank.  Again, the interior of the tank was lined a few months ago to ensure the integrity of the tank and fuel lines.  The Engine # is KZ550AE019571.  Displacement is 553cc.  53HP at 8500 rpm.  Electric starter, (works).

I reserve the right to end the auction early, as I have the bike listed locally.  If you have questions, or doubts, or want more pictures, please contact me at 310-457-3039.  I have a low reserve on the bike.  I'm happy to show the bike by appointment.  If the bike needs to be shipped, I will assist, but I'd prefer local pick up.  Only serious bidders PLEASE.  If you have less than 5 Feedback history, you will need to contact me prior to bidding, or I will cancel your bid.

Accepted payment methods are cash in person, cashier's check/money order, or wire transfer.  If payment is made via cashier's check/money order, the bike will be released only after the funds have cleared.

The winning bidder needs to deposit $200 via PayPal, (Non-Refundable), immediately after the end of the auction, and full payment needs to be made within 7 days after the end of the auction.  The bike needs to be picked up, or shipping arrangements need to be made 14 days of the end of the auction.

Thank you for viewing, and GOOD LUCK!

Drift Camera HD170 review

Fri, 11 Mar 2011

I’ve been testing this Drift 170 camera for the past few days. I also took it on the recent Portimao Maxxis tyre launch where I managed to sneak it onto Gary Mason’s Kawasaki Superbike. We’ve been using the GoPro HD set-up for over a year now with mixed results.

2022 Kawasaki Z650RS Review - First Ride

Fri, 15 Apr 2022

Retro-styling on a middleweight favorite. Credit: Photos by Kevin Wing “I’m not a fan of the Darth Vader looks.” It’s a line we hear often whenever we test one of Kawasaki’s sporty bikes, especially from the Z family of naked bikes. Internally known as the Sugomi design language, Kawasaki says “Someone, or something, possessing sugomi inspires awe, leaves an indelible impression, is daunting in stature or ability, and commands respect.” Maybe it does, or maybe it doesn’t, but angular lines and sharp creases also alienate a section of the motorcycling world who like the modern tech and power from Kawasaki’s Z line, but could do without the sugomi styling.
