Honda Other description

1997 Honda ST-1100 non-ABS, 97k miles, excellent condition, gas rear shocks by Works Performance, Sargeant seat, saddle bags, Cee Baily windshield, heated grips, headlight shield, 2x 55/60w H4 headlight, fork boots, 40A alternator, VDO Voltmeter and Clock, Honda service manual. There are a few scratches on left mirror housing and some nicks in odd places but nothing severe as you can see in the pictures. Private seller. I owned this bike since 2003 and rode it to Prudhoe bay Alaska in 2004. I was thinking of doing another ride to Alaska this year but I can not find time to do that anymore and maybe you can. This engine is noted for going up to 200k miles without problems just check out the ST1100 owners forums.

Engine runs like new and carburetion is perfect. Valve clearances checked and timing belt replaced less than 10k miles ago. Everything works, it starts easily everytime. No oil leaks, no fluid leaks. There is nothing that needs to be fixed. It is ready for a long run right now. You are getting a good deal and you know it. The only reason this bike fetches such a low price is because not many people know this bike here in the US.

Some info from Motociclismo magazine regarding history of ST1100: Honda Europe decided to compete with the growing EU Sport-Touring bike market exemplified by the newly introduced BMW K bikes in the mid 80's. A Honda R&D office in Germany wrote up the performance requirements and the bike was produced in Hamamatsu. Bike was released to the press as the 'Pan-European' in Austria where it demonstrated its ability to run effortlessly at unlimited autobahn speeds and reach the Swiss alps from Germany without refueling. Such impressive performance resulted to a 4 quart oil sump and a 7.4 Gallon fuel tank. The bike was initially a Euro-only model because its performance did not make sense with the 65mph speed limit US freeway system at the time when Goldwings and Hogs were the standard for interstate travel. Nevertheless, Honda saw a possible market for a US sport tourer so the bike was cautiously introduced in limited quantities. One ride on this bike and you will quickly recognize the pedigree.

Auction rules simple:
No reserve, winner has three days to contact me after auction to make arrangements for payment and pick-up. Cash or Cashier's check.  If no reply, the bike goes to the next bidder. Will answer questions until the day before auction ends. Winner is responsible for local pick-up, other options may be discussed upon contact.  Bid with trust and confidence. I value my ebay standing and I expect you do too.

Local pick up in Los Angeles only. If you test ride and drop it, you buy it.
