Honda XL 350 description

For sale is a one of a kind board track racer tribute motorcycle.  This rascal is a head turner and show winner!!! No real motorcycles were harmed in this build.  The frame was built by entirely hand built by Speed-Machine Motorcycles in Minneapolis. Yes, they can build you one to your specs. No cheap cut up bicycle frames going on here. The motor is a dead stock Honda XL 350, rated at 17 HP and 78 MPH stock bike. .  No cheesy 50cc china girl motor. 530 chrome X-ring chain. The wheels are 23" Honda dirt bike wheels with non-DOT  Mitas ice tires for shows. Included with the sale is a set of speedway (knobby) tires for common road use. The ice tires are imported from Europe and too expensive and hard to get to wear out on the road. The headlight is a 1907 Dietz kerosene lantern modified to accept a 4.5" 6 volt fog lamp. All plating is nickel, as was appropriate for 1915. Internal throttle and reverse clutch lever. Coil is hidden inside faux magneto. All cloth covered wires. Brass grease gun on backbone is designed to simulate the oilers on original total loss engines, but now serves as choke. Seat is a Greg Hunt made Mesinger reproduction. Rear tail light is a 1905 Lucas carbide bicycle tail lamp from England converted to LED.  Please note details like the Olds head badge and the patent plate on the right side cover. These are the show winning details.

Yes, it runs and yes, it is peppy. I've only had it to 60 MPH. There's more in there.
No, it's not comfortable.
Is it street legal? It has a head light, brake light, tail light and a license plate. Let your conscience be your guide.

This bike was built to show and create conversation. It has done both VERY well. It was invited to show last winter at The One show in Portland, Mama Tried in Milwaukee, Full Throttle Biker Build Off Invitational in Florida, the Handbuilt show in Austin, the Bikes at the Brewery show in LaCrosse, and Garage Brewed show in Cincinnatti. It was first place in the Vintage class at the Biker Build Off, Best of Show at Bearded Lady in Minneapolis, Motorcycle Best of Show at the Swan City show and People's Choice at the Brewtown Rumble in Milwaukee. It has won a pile of trophies in local shows. The feedback has been quite overwhelming.  Ride in and watch the cameras come out!!!

Interview video: On Youtube, search " Behind the Handlebars-Steve Olds"

It has a transferable Vermont registration. Vermont does not issue titles for vehicles 15 years or older. A title is no problem, just sign the registration and send it to your DMV. Attach a note asking they search the "Polk" book for the regulations and print the page from the Vermont DMV website about their title policy.. They will send you a title. It works in Wisconsin. Or you could do what I do, just send in Vermont's fees every year and keep it registered in Vermont. I'll just transfer the registration to the buyer. Vermont doesn't care where you live, they just want the fees.

Honda CBR900RR Go Kart [video]

Mon, 31 Aug 2009

J&D Fabrications located in South Florida has created a go kart with a Honda CBR900RR engine.  With all that power behind it, I would say the go kart is doing a lot of drifting rather then driving but its fun to watch.  Don’t be jealous Mario… Check it out after the jump. Day 7 Dakar 2014: Barreda Wins Another

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

After a day of rest, Sunday’s stage seven was characterized by rain during the night and a new Dakar country – Bolivia. After an early start at 4:30 in the morning, the first 62 miles of the special stage into Bolivia had to be shortened due to rain and poor visibility, low-hanging clouds that prevented the helicopters from taking off creating security issues. The route led across the Andes and towards the Bolivian border.

Rossi runs special Simoncelli tribute helmet

Sun, 06 Nov 2011

During the 10 o'clock trial laps today, Valentino ran with a new helmet dedicated to his friend Marco Simoncelli. To demonstrate how much Valentino was affected by the tragedy that hit the Honda rider, Valentino's helmet will be divided in half: the front part of the AGV GP-Tech will be exactly like Marco Simoncelli's, with its red and white motif and ever present number 58, while the back will maintain the colours Valentino used throughout the 2011 season. Vale will use the helmet for all of Valencia's weekend.
