Harley-Davidson Sportster description

This is really nice vintage Harley Davidson sportster. The 1000cc engine was rebuilt last year and it runs really good. I don’t have the engine receipts but it is a fresh rebuild. This is the original engine and frame with numbers match .It has lots of power and is a blast to ride. It does not leak oil like most of the old ironheads. It is dry and clean underneath. The engine does not smoke or have any issues. The bike has a neat jockey shifter on it and gives it that old school nostalgic look and feel. The jockey shifter can be removed easily if you don’t care for it. I also have a stock shift arm that just slides back on and bike. With the original shift arm back on the bike it shifts with its standard forward controls. I have the original shift arm listed in my pictures..The clutch pulls smooth and the bike shifts great. The bike is kick and electric start.  This bike shifts on the right side so it may require a few rides around your neighborhood to get use to it.  This is a description of new items below.

  • Rebuilt  engine
  • New Solo Seat
  • New Tires
  • New  Headlight
  • New Starter Solenoid
  • New Rear Lowering Shocks
  • New Voltage Regulator
  • New Battery
  • New Sparto Tail Light
  • Custom Paint Job

The bike has a mini speedometer, a custom fiberglass front fender, and drag handle bars. The bike has a really nice custom flame paint job. The paint is in excellent condition. It has a king 3.1 gallon gas tank with a new petcock. The bike has a rebuilt zenith Bendix carburetor. The air breather is a S & S teardrop. It has a custom horse shoe style oil tank. This bike is really neat and it really draws a crowd where ever it goes. The bike runs, and rides great. It has lots of new parts and lots of time invested but it is a vintage motorcycle. All vintage motorcycles do require some special attention and it is not a new motorcycle. If you are looking for a new motorcycle this is probably not for you, but if you are looking for an old school Harley that is really fun to ride and looks really cool this might be what you are looking for. Please have your funds together before you purchase the bike. This is a auction to purchase this item.

Motorcycle Ride for Diabetes

Fri, 23 Jan 2009

Photograph by: Roy Antal, Leader-Post By and large, motorcyclists are some of the most generous citizens in the world. Riding events all over the world bring in untold millions of dollars for numerous worthy charities. Keeping with this theme, one hardy Canadian rider is braving the Great White North’s frigid winter temperatures by riding his Harley coast to coast to raise awareness for diabetes, a disease that has seen a rapid explosion of new afflictions.
