For Sale is an original 70's build Custom Hardtail 1956 Harley Panhead Chopper 

This is a NO RESERVE auction


This bike has been in storage since 1981.
Owner is deceased and bike was purchased in auction.Vin numbers have been run and all is clean and clear.

Perfect example of a surviving original 70's chopper build down to every detail. bike was built and painted in Columbus,OH

Motor is kick start only.and engine turns over w/ good compression


CUSTOMIZED PARTS
  • 10" Over Columbus Springer Front end
  • Raked neck and smoothed frame( one spot of broken bondo on the neck(see pics)
  • Original 1956 Linkert intake and carb
  • 18" front rim/tire (tire/ tube will need replaced due to dry rot, but do hold air)
  • Custom "frisco" peanut tank w/ reaper air brushed paint(see pics)
  • air brushed horseshoe oil tank 
  • Brown marbled leather camel hump King/Queen seat ( beautiful condition w/ no cracks or tears{see pics})
  • Twisted iron highway pegs
  • Rabbit Ear handlebars
  • Custom street sweeper exhaust

Excellent example of a classic/ custom panhead chopper setup. Isn't perfect, but close.
Original 6v electric system.motor turns over w/ good compression.paint and body are in extremely good preserved shape. 
Inside of the tank is clean and appears to have been drained before storage.

all chrome and paint look to clean up fairly easily with no major corrosion

Kicker will not engage and the pedal is broken off.Throttle cable will need replaced.Carb will need rebuilt and fuel lines replaced.clutch engages and works smoothly.primary cover was removed to check engine movement via crank.will need primary gasket replaced and compensator nut tightened.

As motorcyclists, we’re drawn to the freedom two wheels represent; just man, machine and the open road. The feeling rings true today as it did 72 years ago, when Wallace Van Sandt, of Birmingham, Alabama, took delivery of his 1941 Harley-Davidson WLD Special Sport Solo, purchased new in 1940 for $365 (roughly $5800 in today’s money) by his father as a high school graduation gift. The WLD Special Sport Solo was a ringer in its day.

New Screamin’ Eagle Drag Racing Championship Series for 2013

The NHRA today announced the formation of the Screamin’ Eagle Championship Motorcycle Series for 2013. The new series will feature five classes: Top Fuel, Pro Gas, Draggin’ Bagger, Street Pro and Hot Street. The 10-race series will compete at divisional events as part of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, in addition to the Sportsman ET Motorcycle class that currently competes at various NHRA divisional events.

2012 Harley-Davidson Seventy-Two and Softail Slim Revealed

As expected, Harley-Davidson pulled the wraps off of two new 2012 models, the ’70s-styled Seventy-Two Sportster (pictured above) and the bobber-styled Softail Slim.
