Wanted: Honda Motocompo
Wed, 07 Dec 2011A friend of mine is trying to buy a Honda Motocompo. Don’t ask why. It’d take too long.
It seems that this fold-away two-stroke commuter is a tad on the rare side and he’s struggling to unearth any in the classified pages of his local paper.
The 42kg Motocompo was made to fit inside the boot of the Mk1 Honda Jazz. The Jazz’ boot was actually developed around the Motocompo. The handlebars, seat, and foot-pegs fold into the scooter's rectangular plastic body to create a package that’s just over a metre long. 53,369 Motocompos were sold by the end of production in ‘83.
If anyone out there knows where there might be one these box-bikes for sale – please feel free to leave a comment or drop me an email to mf - at - visordown.com.
