2015 Honda CB300F Gets CARB Approval
Wed, 18 Jun 2014The Honda CBR300R will be joined by a naked model, if new certification documents from the California Air Resources Board are any indication. Back in March, we broke the story of a design patent for a new small-displacement naked Honda based on its CBR300R/CBR250R platform.
CARB has certified a new model called the 2015 Honda CB300F along with the CBR300R and its ABS-equipped variant. According to the CARB document, the CB300F will use the same 286cc single-cylinder engine as the CBR300R.
Images from Honda’s design patent reveal a design close to that of the CB500F, including two radiator shrouds alongside a similar single headlight. The wheels, frame, engine and exhaust however appear identical to those on the CBR300R.
We expect Honda to make an official announcement on the CB300F, and for some markets, likely a CB250F using the CBR250R’s 249.6cc engine.
