2014 Harley-Davidson Fat Bob Receives Dark Custom Makeover
Mon, 19 Aug 2013The Harley-Davidson Fat Bob is returning for 2014 with a new blacked-out look as the latest model to get H-D’s Dark Custom look.
The new, darker Fat Bob features a number of blacked-out components including the powertrain and air cleaner cover, rear shock covers, triple clamps, headlight trim, console and battery box cover. The machined aluminum slotted disc wheels have also been received a black powdercoated finish as well as a laser-ingraved Harley-Davidson logo and rim stripe.
Other updates include a new slash-cut rear fender, blunt-cut staggered dual mufflers, recessed LED twin-ring taillamp, a new slim seat with perforated cover and silver stitching and an updated console with integral ignition switch, five-inch electronic speedometer with multi-function LCD.
“We wanted to take the Fat Bob further into the Dark Custom realm, and one of our inspirational thoughts was Mad Max meets Nascar,” says Tony Pink, Harley-Davidson Styling Manager. “The compact, chopped lines of the new rear fender, the angle of the shocks, and the slanting tank graphics all line up to create an aggressive new stance that’s reinforced by the new blunt-cut mufflers. The high-contrast details on the black wheels relate nicely to the tank graphic. The seat was given a new form and cover that’s more sporty and more comfortable. Bring it all together and the Fat Bob is ready to reassert its presence on the street.”
The 2014 Fat Bob will be offered in Amber Whiskey, Sand Cammo Denim, Black Denim and Vivid Black for $15,699. Available options include ABS, a smart security system with hands-free security fob and an Engine Idle Temperature Management Strategy.
