Yamaha xp500yl description

I am the second owner, I bought it 2 years ago with 700 miles, it has all the factory break in inspections from the previous owner, there is no damage on the bike, it looks and drives like a new bike.
I installed a new battery last year, there is plenty of storage in rear trunk and under the seat for 6 bags of groceries. It has 2 small compartments by the front. All oil changes are done at the required intervals
I always ride with my wife on the back and she says its almost as comfortable as a gold wing.
The bike should not even be called a scooter, it will do 110 mph and will out accelerate most cars, and it handles just as well as a newer sportbike.
What can I say it is a blast to ride, I love not ever having to shift gears.
The only reason I am selling is I am moving out of the country this fall
This is local pickup only

Yamaha released a video looking back at Josh Hayes’ 2011 AMA Superbike season culminating with his second consecutive championship. The video takes a round-by-round look back at the season as Hayes and his Yamaha R1 duked it out with essentially a phalanx of Suzuki GSX-R1000 riders led by seven-race winner Blake Young. Highlights include the hard-fought duel between Hayes and Young at Mid-Ohio, Hayes and Tommy Hayden swapping the lead on the final lap at Laguna Seca and the title-clinching finale at New Jersey Motorsports Park.

Last Year’s Surprise Podium Finisher Katsuyuki Nakasuga to Wild Card at Japanese GP

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

Katsuyuki Nakasuga, the surprise podium finisher at last year’s MotoGP finale in Valencia, will have the chance to catch lightning in a bottle once again, after being granted a wild card entry to the 2013 Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi. Nakasuga shocked the racing world with a second-place finish at the Valencian Grand Prix last November as an injury replacement for then-Yamaha factory rider Ben Spies. Nakasuga made the cagey decision to run slick tires in the wet race.

Yamaha Focusing on Developing Model Platforms

Mon, 22 Sep 2014

Following the success of its MT platform, Yamaha says it will continue to develop new models based on shared platforms, allowing for a choice of multiple models while reducing overall costs. Speaking in a presentation on the company’s business operation, Yamaha Motor President Hiroyuki Yanagi reiterated the strategy of developing multiple models sharing the same engine and frame. Honda has followed a similar strategy with its NC models, seeing the platform evolve to include the CTX700 and NM4.
