Yamaha YZF-R description

FOR SALE: 2014 R6 recently converted into a track/race bike.  Bike sold on ebay once but buyer's financing fell through so I'm relisting.

I bought this R6 from the original owner when it had 2,083 miles on it.  I took it for a short ride (now has 2,132 miles) then straight to the speed shop to get the works. It has never been on the track.  It has a clean VA title and no liens.

This was supposed to be my track bike for years to come.  Unfortunately, during this project, I suffered back to back detached retinas and after three surgeries my vision is not recovering well enough to do track days.  So, I have no choice other than to sell; my loss is your gain - I’m not looking to make a profit.  Although this bike is being sold in a track/race bike configuration it can be converted back to showroom state as I have ALL the body work, parts, tires, nuts and bolts.  The OEM body work is in pristine condition, no scratches what so ever.  MRP Motorsports out of Pasadena, MD performed all the work.  I attached a copy of the MRP work order and Dyno run.  A more user friendly work order list is below:

Armour Bodies - Superbike Style with Zeus Fastners

Pirelli Superbike Pro Slicks, 90 degree valve stems, Zero miles

M4 Full System Exhaust to include block off plates

Vortex Rear Sets

GB Racing Covers

Spiegler Stainless Steel Brake Lines and front brake pads

Ohlins 30mm Springs (baseline SAG, rebound & compression setting for 185lbs rider)

Bazzaz Z-Fi TC Fuel + Quick Shift + Traction Control with Traction Map Switch

ECU Flashed

Full Custom Map/Dyno Tuned to 110 hp(map switch for pump fuel/race fuel)

Zero Gravity Wind Screen

Sale includes ALL OEM body work, 2 Dunlop Sportmax Qualifier tires, new shorty clutch/brake levers, stomp grip tank pads, spare K&N oil filter, owners manual and two keys.

“Buy it Now” price will also include both front and rear stands and bike cover.

Serious buyers may request a video.

No Shipping.  Buyer Must pick-up locally.  Location is Alexandria, VA.

Thanks for looking.

John Reynolds: Riding Masterclass

Fri, 17 Dec 2010

When I first started racing about a thousand years ago, my local stomping ground was a place called Three Sisters near Wigan.  It wasn’t glamorous but it was brilliant. An hour from home and with about a million corners crammed into just a km of tarmac. The Three Sisters was a reference to the three coal slag heaps that had once occupied the site before.

Yamaha Star Bolt Café Photos from Tokyo Motor Show

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

We received some positive feedback on our Google+ page when we first wrote about Yamaha‘s Star Bolt Café prototype, so we thought we’d share some new photos Yamaha released from the Tokyo Motor Show. Yamaha has made it clear the Bolt Café is only a reference model to showcase the customization potential of the Bolt. At its heart remains the Bolt’s 942cc V-Twin engine and double-cradle frame.

1974: Onboard an MV racer with Phil Read

Fri, 19 Feb 2010

ANOTHER CRACKING BIT of vintage racing footage, this time featuring multiple motorcycle world champion Phil Read on the awesome-sounding MV Agusta 500-4.The footage is from the 1974 movie 'The Iron Horse' made by Frenchman Pierre-William Glenn.Read’s 1974 500cc World Championship victory was the last year a four-stroke won the world title before the advent of the MotoGP class in 2002. Giacomo Agostini won the crown from Yamaha in 1975, followed by Suzuki-mounted Barry Sheene in '76 and '77. The footage is bloody good, considering the camera technology of the day.
