1979 YZ250 ONE OF A KIND HANDCRAFTED HISTORY

A 79 YZ hand built in the spirit of the early factory racer's. This bike has features not normally seen in a bike of this era. For example a bespoke aluminum fuel tank. The sum of the hours of labor on this bike is lots of details. Please look at the photos closely.

The list of one of a kind include:

* Aluminum fuel tank with painted script, not a sticker
* Aluminum swingarm / chain guide ( Not Oem)
* Cone expansion chamber and alloy silencer
* Changed rear chassis to accommodate a trick alum. airbox similar to the factory racer's
* Modified front brake to dual action with billet lever arms
* Stainless steel foot pegs
* Chrome Moly brake torque arm
* Gear shift lever
* Thermo formed number plates
* Hammer formed mud guard

The list of new parts as follows:

* Tires - Dunlop
* Seat cover & foam
* Fenders
* Chain
* Levers
* Grips
* Handle bars

Front forks have machined details, with new seals and oil, and look great.

As this motorcycle was proudly displayed indoors there has been no fuel in it since restoration.
The engine has new gaskets and good compression but will need a new stator coil to run.

Yamaha Champions Riding School To Sell Hang Dry Leather Driers

Wed, 16 Apr 2014

Riders who sweat in their leathers – and who doesn’t at a track day or race – know how nasty damp leathers can get if not dried properly. Of course, there’s always the tried-and-true technique of hanging them up in your garage, but that can take days. What if you only have an hour?

So that's why he's called RANDY de Puniet

Tue, 20 Jul 2010

RANDY de Puniet may well have just been ejected from his LCR Honda RC212V MotoGP racer during qualifying for Sunday's Sachsenring GP but that ain't gonna stop him from bringing one of the company perks with him to Dr Costa's on-circuit surgery. The Frenchman crashed during qualifying after hitting oil and water spilled on track by Jorge Lorenzo's Fiat Yamaha, after it spewed its guts along almost the entire length of the start finished straight. Following the crash De Puniet was whisked away on a stretcher with a suspected broken foot.

Rumor Mill: Yamaha To Make R400 and R650

Thu, 25 Jul 2013

Yamaha is set to put into production two new sporty bikes — the R400 and R650 —  according to “Young Machine” a Japanese motorcycle magazine. If true, this would fill a huge void in the manufacturer’s beginner sportbike bike lineup. It would make sense, considering the success of Suzuki’s SV650 (which later morphed into the Gladius and is now the SFV650), Kawasaki’s Ninja 650 (ER-6 in other markets), and even Honda’s CBR500R.
