Yamaha XT description

Heres the story on the XT, bought it from a friend who has owned and ridden it for many years. My intent was to bring it back to factory fresh mint condition, but with changes at work I will not have time. Lets start with the not so good, there is a small oil leak from the counter shaft seal, the carbs need to be cleaned up a bit, the bike sometimes dies for no apparent reason. The good! The bike is solid, the engine is still tight, all the electronics work (lights blinkers etc), bike shifts perfectly, tons of power. I have and will include with the sale a brand new yamaha factory seat cover, small drive sprocket, dust seals and fork seals, and an aluminum rack that I was fabricating. The bike also has aftermarket ascerbis tank and brush guards. The plastics are all there. Tires still have some life left no dry rot. It has been garage kept most of its life, i currently keep it under a car port with a motorcycle cover on it. Its really a solid bike that with some TLC can be made perfect again. She does fire right up in one or two kicks and idles smoothly. It is currently registered and I have been riding it around town. If you have any questions please ask and i will respond asap!

Magneti Marelli to Supply Electronics System to MotoGP Teams

Wed, 26 Sep 2012

It’s no secret that promoter Dorna Motorsports has been trying to push a standardized electronics control unit for teams in the MotoGP World Championship. The lack of a top-tier electronics package has been one of the biggest challenges faced by MotoGP’s claiming rule teams, and a spec ECU would narrow the gap between the CRT bikes and the factory prototypes. The manufacturers competing in the series, Honda, Ducati and Yamaha, understandably are resistant to the idea considering the effort they’ve put in to develop their electronics systems.

Official 2014 MotoGP Entry List Released

Fri, 28 Feb 2014

The International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) released the official entry list for the 2014 MotoGP Championship including 23 riders representing 13 teams. The final entry list also lists each rider’s status as either a Open or Factory class rider. The eight Factory riders are allowed to use their teams’ own proprietary ECU software but are otherwise limited by a freeze on engine development, a limit of five engines for the whole season and just 5.3 gallons of fuel per race.
