Yamaha XT description

Up for sale is my trusty xt 225.   I live in Wisconsin so I never ride it.  Its either winter, raining, or no time.  So it has a whooping 4500 miles on it over 20 years of life.  I bought it in 2011 and ride it about 200 miles a year, so time to sell it.

I dropped it once in my garage and dented the tank.  Then I had it in the back of my truck and dropped it and bent the bars.  Then last fall, I was goofing off on some sand on the road and laid it down dented the left side further as seen in photos.  The left mirror came off in the back of the truck when I dropped it in the bed of my flatbed.  So, its a little beat up but not from hammering it on the trails.

Anyhow, it has a new back tire, new luggage rack and runs like a top.  But, it has been 3 years since the carb has been worked on so it needs some adjustment as it leaks out the overflow of the carb when the tank is full and the bike is parked if the fuel cock is not turned off.

$1500 is firm and it ships from 54601.   email me through ebay if you need to talk to me. I take ebaying seriously and prefer paypal.   Thanks for looking and good luck

Inside Insights From Yamaha Champions Riding School

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

The folks at the newly revamped Yamaha Champions Riding School are determined to make you a better rider. But to improve your riding some self-reflection is in order, and like in any other sport, it’s best to start at the basics. In the first of the “Inside Insight” series, lead instructor Ken Hill discusses apexes and why they are important.

Geeky snippets ahead of the Phillip Island MotoGP

Tue, 13 Oct 2009

Valentino Rossi has finished on the podium eleven times in his twelve visits to Phillip Island across all three GP classes. The only race at Phillip Island that he did not finish in the top three was on his first visit riding a 125cc machine in 1997 when he finished sixth. In 1998 and 1999 he won the 250cc races and since then has had nine podiums in the premier-class including five victories, the last of which was in 2005.

Ienatsch, Hill, Russell, Bestwick To Give Speech At Yale Today

Thu, 30 Jan 2014

In what might be considered the most shocking news of 2014 so far, Nick Ienatsch and Ken Hill are going to Yale. While some might think the Chief and Lead instructors at the newly revamped Yamaha Champions Riding School are getting in over their heads, the two are at Yale as lead presenters for “Excellence In Motion: What Motorcycle Racing Can Teach Us About Success,” which begins at 4pm (local time) today.  When put into context, their appearance at one of the nation’s top schools is understandable. Each has had their fair share of success aboard motorcycles, and they will be joined by two more champions on two-wheels, five-time Daytona 200 winner and 1993 World Superbike Champion Scott Russell, and Jamie Bestwick, an avid motorcyclist and winner of eight consecutive X-Games BMX Vert gold medals.
