Yamaha XS description

Up for sale is a 79 XS1100. The bike starts, runs, rides, stops, and shifts. It has a nice MAC 4-1 header. Overall, the bike is in good shape for the year, it just needs a little attention. It has a new stator (charges at 14.5-15v), new petcocks, and the carbs have been gone through.
The float valves stick a little and it will leak gas if the petcocks are left on. That is an issue that will definitely need addressed. The carbs will probably need synched also.
The tank is clean inside but has a few dings and scratches, not too bad though. One side cover is broken as shown in the pics. The seat is in good shape. The kick starter works but won't return on its own, probably a bad spring I would guess, but the electric start works fine. Rear tire is good, front tire has some cracking. The battery will need replaced, I have just started it off a jump box.
This is a chance to get a good deal on a large cc shaft drive Yamaha, and would be an easy winter project. Thank you for looking!

Rossi’s Ranch: Valentino’s Personal Playground

Tue, 23 Jul 2013

What does Valentino Rossi do when he’s not riding his Yamaha M1 around the best racetracks in the world? He relaxes at home in Tavullia, Italy, and rides motorcycles around his newly developed dirt track dubbed, “Rossi’s Ranch.” “It’s like a dream from when you’re a child,” says Rossi. “You hope at one moment you can buy your own racetrack.” It’s safe to say Rossi is financially stable enough at this moment in time to where he can make his childhood dream a reality.
