Still, with relatively good but mostly discharged battery she actually started and I was able to ride her down the block before realizing she was leaking copious amounts of gasoline through the carbs, which had become sticky due to the months of non-use. My mechanic, who has been working for the local Yamaha shop for decades, and is probably 1 of the best Yamaha mechanics in the south, told me that the carb service would cost approx $500. I will sell this sweet machine, which is in exceptionally fine condition, save for the need of carb cleaning, for $6,500. OBO, but only to someone who will promise to have it transported to the local Yamaha dealership (I'll provide phone number and address of shop when needed) where it can be professionally repaired, prior to attempting to ride it (due to the danger posed by leaking gasoline the instant the engine is cranked.) Phone me at for details/appt. Able to respond ONLY to phone calls or reply to voicemail messages which contain a callback phone number. -Louis

Shawn Higbee Wins On The Brough Superior Taylor Made Racing Moto2

Thu, 01 May 2014

In only its second race appearance, the Brough Superior Taylor Made Racing Moto2 bike competed in the WERA F1 and B Superbike events on April 27th at the Autoclub Speedway in Fontana, California, run in conjunction with the first round of the GEICO Superbike Shootout, presented by Yamaha. During the F1 race, rider Shawn Higbee moved up to as high as 2nd place from a 5th row start on the Brough Superior TMRGP2 bike.  The TMRGP2′s lightweight all carbon fiber chassis and 600cc Honda powerplant demonstrated impressive cornering speed on the tight infield sections but could not match the top speed of the heavily modified 1000cc F1 bikes on the long straights. On the last lap Higbee was shuffled back to 4th place at the finish line.
