Yamaha V Star description

For sale is my 2008 V Star 1300, with No Reserve. I bought this bike new in 2008 and ended up laying it down in August of 2009. Due to the accident I replaced the handlebars, gas tank, front fender, headlight, front turn signal, and front mirror. The only other things I changed on the bike are the smoke colored turn signal lenses, added floorboard extenders (because I am tall), and drilled out the exhaust baffle. After fixing the bike I rarely rode it and it sat in the garage most of the time. The last time I started it was about a year ago.

I'm not sure what all will need to be done to get it on the road but I'm assuming a good cleaning, replacing all fluids and a tune up at least. The tires and belt are original and have never been replaced.

There is some scratches on the right side of the gas tank and some chips on the brackets the mirrors mount to. Overall the bike is in good shape. It has only 2454 miles and would be a good winter project for someone.  Bike is sold AS IS/WHERE IS with No Reserve. I have a clear title in hand, winning bid takes it. The bike is in West Columbia, SC (29169).

$300 deposit must be made by the highest bidder within 24 hours of the auction ending.  The remaining amount is due at pickup in cash. The bike must be picked up within 7 days of the auction ending.

Please message me with any questions. Thank you for looking.

An Island tour with a legend

What you are watching is a highlight of Mike Hailwood's segment from the racing documentary Take it to the Limit - A Motorcycle Odyssey. The Yamaha - built by the extraordinary Kel Carruthers - that Hailwood is riding in the clip featured a unique frame with the camera housed within. The voice-over recording provided by Hailwood was done by taping a small mic to the bottom of his lip so he could dictate his guide to the 37.73 mile route.

New Photos and Video of Yamaha PES1 Electric Concept

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

Yamaha has released additional images and a video of its new PES1 electric motorcycle for the concept’s debut at the Tokyo Motor Show. The new photographs, shot at Yamaha’s display at the Tokyo show, show more details about the PES1 concept, which Yamaha first announced earlier this month. The PES1 shares the same electric DC brushless motor, lithium-ion battery and monocoque frame as the PED1 concept which also took its bow in Tokyo.

You want a nice little car, you do.

We ran a couple of stories last week - both, coincidentally, about new Kawasakis. One was the first peek of the new ZX10R – hot stuff you’d imagine – the other, the new W800 retro parallel twin. I suppose it shouldn’t have shocked us, which story was most popular in terms of hits but it really does mark a seismic shifts in British biking attitudes that the W800 story doubled the hits of the ZX10 piece.
