Yamaha V Max tech info
Yamaha V Max description
This is the original muscle bike.
1990 Bike Last summer the 1990 engine was replaced with a 2004 engine, with 5k miles on it, at Prospect Power Sports on Coney Island Ave, BKLYN, NY, from 1985 through about 2007 or 2008 the VMax was basically unchanged, it has 145 HP at the crank. Dual Disc Brakes, Rear Disc Brake. Fork Seals, Progressive Fork Springs and new master slave clutch installed Speed Motorcycles, New York, New York, (now located in the Bronx) New Battery and rear turn signals installed at Brooklyn Mayd Power Sports. V Boast kicks on at 5800rpms where the carburetors dump 2x the fuel into the engine giving you a boast that would make Kit from Nightrider jealous. Clubman (cafe) bars installed to give you a more aggressive riding position over stock bars. Cobra Exhaust pipes with a ridiculous growl that puts everyone on notice that this V4 engine is no joke. Left side shaft drive is maintenance free, so forget about chain adjustment and cleaning. This is an old school bike with tons of attitude. Original pipes are available to the wining bidder. Selling bike to free up some space, just got my project bike in from the shop after two years. Still ride it, so milage may go up slightly. Enjoy. |

Wed, 15 Sep 2010This picture of me chasing Foggy on the Daytona banking in 1991 brought back some bitter sweet memories recently. I did half a season as his team mate on the Silkolene RC30s before scurrying off to Japan to ride a factory Yamaha Superbike. I’ve never been a quitter but I felt the team that year was gear stretched running two riders so it was a case of last in first out.
