Yamaha Royal Star description

A very nice touring motorcycle in very good condition. It was sold, but then became unsold due to lack of funds. I've taken this bike on several long trips and found it to be extremely stable and comfortable for both solo and two-up riding. I've ridden it from North Carolina to Michigan and from Michigan to New York City twice. I've actually ridden it in all five boroughs of NYC. It has cruise control, generous saddle bags, and lots of extra chrome. Well maintained. Everything works perfectly. There is one 2-inch seam tear on the driver's seat, probably repairable, but I can't guarantee it. 30,000 miles. (These Royal Stars will easily go over 100,000 miles.) If you're looking to cruise, this is the bike for you at a low price. Make me an offer. Questions: 616-403-1456.

Yamaha to Cut Motorcycle Production in 2009

Thu, 26 Feb 2009

With mounting inventories coupled with a drop in demand, Yamaha will be cutting its motorcycle production in Japan by 24 percent this year or to about 260,000 total units; one newspaper reported this would be a 40-year low for the manufacture. Yamaha plans to cut production for motorcycles and other products by 30 percent in the Americas, 20 percent in Europe but will maintain production levels in Asia where demand has not dropped off. The company is forecasting its group sales to fall 22 percent with an operating loss of about $300 million.

John Reynolds: Riding Masterclass

Fri, 17 Dec 2010

When I first started racing about a thousand years ago, my local stomping ground was a place called Three Sisters near Wigan.  It wasn’t glamorous but it was brilliant. An hour from home and with about a million corners crammed into just a km of tarmac. The Three Sisters was a reference to the three coal slag heaps that had once occupied the site before.
