UP FOR BID IS MY 1974 YAMAHA RD 350  TORQUE INDUCTION 6 SPEED MOTORCYLE. I HAVE OWN THIS BIKE SINCE NEW AND HAVE THE ORIGINAL BILL OF SALE. CYCLE HAS NOT BEEN LICENSE FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS AND ITS BEEN SITTING IN STORAGE AND NOW IT IS TIME TO GO. IT PROBABLY COULD USE A TUNE-UP, CHAIN AND SPROCKET AND TIRES. THERE ARE SOME FLAWS, DENT IN FRONT FENDER, SMALL DING IN GAS TANK, MISSING REFLECTOR ON BACK, AND VERY MINOR SURFACE RUST ON FRAME. I HAVE HAD IT RUNNING AND DROVE IT AROUND THE YARD. A GREAT BIKE TO RESTORE OR DRIVE. IT USE TO GET ABOUT 38 MPG AND 105 MPH. NOT TO THRILLED TO SELL BUT HOSPITAL BILLS NEED TO BE PAID. ITEM IS SOLD AS IS. Yamaha Focusing on Developing Model Platforms

Following the success of its MT platform, Yamaha says it will continue to develop new models based on shared platforms, allowing for a choice of multiple models while reducing overall costs. Speaking in a presentation on the company’s business operation, Yamaha Motor President Hiroyuki Yanagi reiterated the strategy of developing multiple models sharing the same engine and frame. Honda has followed a similar strategy with its NC models, seeing the platform evolve to include the CTX700 and NM4.

The 2012 AMA Supercross Championship race is getting tighter with a fourth race winner in as many rounds following James Stewart‘s victory in Oakland, Calif. The JGRMX Yamaha racer captured his first win of the 2012 season at Oakland’s O.co Coliseum. Stewart out-dueled longtime rival Chad Reed of TwoTwo Motorsports Honda for the win.

Yamaha Introduces 2012 V Star 950 and V Star Tourer

Yamaha revealed the first 2012 models from its Star Motorcycles brand of cruisers, the V Star 950 and V Star 950 Tourer. The 2012 V Star 950 (and the more touring-oriented V Star 950 Tourer) is powered by a fuel-injected air-cooled 942cc 60 degree V-Twin engine with a five-speed transmission. Yamaha estimates fuel economy at 47 mpg from the 4.5 gallon tank.
