Triumph Rocket III Performance Package
Two-time NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Champion Bob Carpenter is now selling
his 240 rear-wheel horsepower Triumph Rocket III performance package in
new 2013 Triumph Rocket III motorcycles.
The Carpenter Racing engine kit boosts the stock 2300cc Triumph Rocket
III Roadster from 146bhp to 240+rwhp and is fully streetable for daily
commuting.
This street performance package has proven itself at the race track as
well. The "Carpenter Rocket" has turned in blistering quarter-mile times
of 8.99 seconds and 155mph at New Jersey's Atco Raceway Park. And, it's
set American (AMA) and International (FIM) world land speed records at
the Bonneville Salt Flats at 175mph.
The Rocket III performance package includes Carpenter's Ram Air kit,
proprietary CNC engine porting with a custom-ground camshaft and valve
train, custom aluminum 11.4:1 stock displacement pistons, a higher
volume fuel pump, and a Carpenter Megaphone exhaust. Custom clutch
springs also are fitted to handle the extra power.
Customers can purchase a new 2012 or 2013 Triumph Rocket III Roadster
with the performance package installed and tested for $35,000.

have owned dozens of bikes over my lifetime and the only bike which was
faster was my turbo hayabusa, a standard hayabusa or zx14 is not even
in the same league as a Bob Carpenter built Triumph Rocket. The first
time you roll on the throttle you will be astounded and amazed as to how
a bike this big can accelerate this fast, the torque is INSANE!!! The
bike can spin to 9000 rpms but there is no reason as you can short shift
and leave any bike built today in the far distance...for that matter
any car built today will be left for dead. You will be 100% satisfied as
the bike is perfect and Bob Carpenter is a perfectionist.
I
have shipped bikes in the past and every buyer was 100% satisfied as to
how the bike was represented and the bike exceeded their expectations
upon arrival. I will only ship in the US, no international shipping. I

Unchained: 2013 Triumph Rocket III Free of Power Restrictions
Mon, 21 Jan 2013Triumph has updated its Rocket III cruiser for 2013, adding more blacked-out components and a new seat, but perhaps the most significant change is what Triumph took away: the electronic torque limiter. Previous versions of the Triumph Rocket III and the Rocket III Touring variant had its power and torque neutered in the first three gears. The reins are off for 2013 however, with the Rocket III’s 2294cc engine delivering full power in all gears.

Since then, the 69 year-old industrial designer has become obsessed by fuel consumption - or rather highlighting how poor motorcycles are delivering impressive figures. He originally ran a series of fuel challenges in the eighties and now the economy has taken a nose dive, he has resurrected the competition, figuring that the time is now right to highlight these issues again. According to Vetter, three of every four American gallons of petrol is imported – reason enough to devote his time to raising awareness.

Tue, 05 Apr 2011With the full factory fitted arrow system and map fitted it was time to give the Speed a run on a Dyno to see where the power is at. Over two runs the best results were as follows; Power at the crank : 130bhp & 75 ft.lbs torque Power at the gearbox : 124bhp & 72 ft.lbs torque Power at the wheel : 119bhp & 69 ft.lbs torque The bike has covered 4200 miles and is due its first proper service at 6000 so you would expect to see a reduction in power. Triumph claim on a brand new bike the Speed Triple at best puts out 135bhp and 82 ft.lbs torque at the crank with the cans fitted, effectively mine has lost 5bhp and 7ft.lbs of torque.
