And a few models such as Honda’s NC700S and X, Kawasaki’s Versys 1000 and CRP’s Energica were unveiled without heavy prior fanfare, but gasps of surprise weren’t heard when the wraps were taken off Triumph’s Tiger 1200 Explorer, Husqvarna’s Nuda or MV Augusta’s F3 675 among others, whose existences were revealed months in advance of the show. Buddy Holly, Ariel Cyclone, 1958

Above is some fantastic home movie footage of Buddy Holly and the Crickets messing around on motorbikes in 1958. The story behind the bikes in the video starts after Buddy Holly, Joe Mauldin and Jerry Allison came back from a successful tour in 1958, flush with cash. The trio decided to spend their rock and roll dollars on brand new motorcycles.

EICMA 2013: Triumph Tiger 800XC SE

This special edition 2014 Triumph Tiger 800XC is a real looker. The new Volcanic Black paint is highlighted by red metallic highlights while the fire-red frame grabs your attention. Exhaust heat shields and  pillion grab rails are also black.
