Triumph Bonneville description
One of a few made 650cc Bonneville's in 1974. Basically a T140V with a T120 engine. Stamped with matching numbers as T120V.
This bike is very nicely restored back to its original condition.
This motorcycle was pulled from a barn six years ago and stripped down to nuts and bolts, then fully rebuilt. The engine has been split to inspect and clean the crank and transmission. The bottom end is solid. The top end has had New valves and springs, piston rings, and bronze lined valve guides. Valves and seats have new cuts. All new seals. The chassis has new rear shocks. The swing arm pivot bushing was replaced and machined to correct tolerance. New Steering bearing set.
Front disc brake has all new seals, hoses, lines, pads and master cylinder.
A list of new parts includes: Rims/Spokes, Metzler tires, AMAL carbs, All rubber pieces, Sparx electrical switches.
Frame is powdercoated. Tank was professionally sprayed with hand worked gold pin stripe. Gas tank has been lined with Wurth Liner.
The wiring harness is brand new. Hand laid by Billy at Deathtrap Cycles in Austin TX.
This bike runs great.
I have ridden a little over 2000 miles since assembling a year ago. I have had only the typical old Triumph problems that everybody knows comes with these bikes.

Street Triple gets a Yoshi boost
Fri, 21 Jan 2011Yoshimura, the purveyors of fine aftermarket exhausts have put the heads together for these fine looking high-level cans for the Triumph Street Triple. According to the PR; the exhausts offer a considerable gain in performance over the stock items (dyno results below), with a significant weight reduction. The stock exhausts top the scales at 7.2kg and with the top-of-the-range carbon slip-ons, the weight is shaved down to 3.5kg.
Classic Off-Road Bikes Featured in Braving Baja: 1,000 Miles to Glory Exhibition
Sat, 06 Apr 2013Back in the 60s, American Honda tested the durability of its motorcycles by sending a CL72 Scrambler on a 950-mile trek through rocks, sand washes, dry lake beds, mountain passes and paved roads. Fifty years later, that legendary run is remembered for inspiring one of the most significant off-road races in the world—the Baja 1000. In celebration, the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles is hosting a tribute dinner, one-day off road show, and summer-long exhibition called Braving Baja, 1,000 Miles to Glory.
Looking after number 1
Fri, 06 Jan 2012There was a time when a rider’s number indicated his position from the previous season, with the ultimate accolade being the number 1 emblazoned on the front of the champion's bike. The rise of branding in MotoGP and a rider wanting to market themselves, born from Barry Sheene and his retention of no.7, saw riders decide against displaying their finish from the year before. Rossi, who on winning his numerous championships, stuck with his famous #46 in defence of his titles, instead of stamping a great number 1 on his bikes.
