Triumph Bonneville description

Nicely restored 1972 Triumph Bonneville for sale.  Very nice, correctly functioning rider with no mechanical issues.  With a good detailing the bike could easily be displayed in a museum setting, however it is not a perfect bike.  Please know that even thought it has been restored, the bike is 45 years old.  Serious buyers please study the photos in detail and ask any questions for anything that is not clear.  Bike was restored about 6 years ago.  Do not have any additional photos or documentation of the restoration. Comes with clear OH title branded ACTUAL 29,500 miles and is exactly what you see in the photos, nothing more, nothing less.

It is in everyone's best interest for the buyer to clearly know what they are getting, so here is my best description of what I can see or understand about this bike:

Positive Points:
  • Very attractive style and very nice cosmetic condition
  • Good mechanical condition, typically starts first kick and does not have any mechanical issues.
  • Newer modern tires
  • Numbers matching frame and engine
  • Many other positive points can be seen in the photos

Negative Points:

  • Very small paint chip in white on lower tank (touched up, see photos)
  • Some small dings in the mufflers (need to look very closely)
  • Some minimal rust in some areas (look closely) that can likely be resolved with good detailing
  • Bike is 45 years old! So, although it does reliably start, run and ride, it IS a vintage motorcycle.  Please understand that if you are a serious buyer.

If you have any questions please ask and provide a phone number and I will try to respond or discuss with you buy phone.  I can also provide my number upon request.

Deposit by Paypal due within 24 hours of winning the auction and balance of payment due in cash in person upon pickup.  I have used a shipper in the local area that travels everywhere east of the Mississippi and I can provide that contact upon request.

Other Notes:

  • The last 2 digits of vin "XX" are not actual.  They are actually a sequential number between 25 and 33.
  • Bike is located in a NW suburb of Columbus, Ohio, about 2 miles from The Columbus Zoo and about 15 miles north of the junction of I-70 / 1-71.

Please see my other listings for more interesting stuff.

Please ask any and all questions prior to bidding.  Returns are a hassle for everyone and waste time and money.  I have a solid, 20-year history on eBay and want to be 100% transparent with everything I sell.  I am not an expert on everything I sell, so if you want to know something I have not listed, please ask prior to bidding.

Your satisfaction is of paramount importance to me!  That is why I have such a high rating as a seller after almost 20 years on eBay.  That being said, this vehicle or item is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle or researched the item based on the photos and information given, and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. The seller shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects associated with this vehicle or item at the buyer's request prior to the close of sale.

2012-2013 Triumph Street Triple and Daytona 675 Hit with Nissin ABS Recall

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

A manufacturing error by brake manufacturer Nissin has claimed another motorcycle maker. Triumph  is recalling the 2012-2013 Street Triple, Street Triple R, Daytona 675 and Daytona 675R because of the problem with the Nissin-supplied anti-lock brake modulator. The issue has already resulted in recalls for the 2014 Honda CTX700 and CTX700N, the 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300 (and the Ninja 250 offered in Asian markets) and the 2013 Suzuki Hayabusa.

Steve McQueen Inspired Motorcycle

Tue, 10 Nov 2009

British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph and Swiss watch manufacturer TAG Heuer have collaborated to create a special, one-of-a-kind “Bonneville Heuer” Triumph motorcycle. The association between Triumph and TAG Heuer comes as a result of their common values and the legacy of Steve McQueen, who was famously linked to both brands. The TAG Heuer Bonneville features a unique blue and orange paint scheme that was inspired by the Porsche sports car driven by Steve McQueen’s character in the movie Le Mans (1971).
