Triumph Bonneville description

1971 TRIUMPH T120R BONNEVILLE 650 TRIKE PROJECT

CLASSIC 3-WHEELER WITH EXTENDED FORKS

NO RESERVE - YOU BID, YOU WIN! * * * PRICE LOWERED * * *

CHASSIS & BRACKETS - Custom made trike raked chassis with extended forks and "live" axle.

SUSPENSION - Front forks need total overhaul, no rear suspension.

WHEELS, BRAKES & TIRES - NO WORKING BRAKES. Rear sprocket can accept disc brake caliper; front brakes need total overhaul. Mercury Marquis "snowflake" alloy rear wheels. Tires had good tread, but are old.

ENGINE - Appears all original. I have not opened the engine, but would recommend a total overhaul.

Intake & Exhaust - Mikuni carbs in good shape with UNI foam filters. Basic straight pipes with open mini-megaphones.

Ignition - Original points & condensers

HAND & FOOT CONTROLS - Original footpegs, no shifter or brake pedal. Handlebars may not be exactly as in photo, but will be good bars, not bent or rusted.

NO ELECTRICAL, LIGHTING, METERS, CABLES OR DRIVE CHAIN.

BODYWORK - Vintage "peanut" style tank of unknown origin. No fenders no sidecover. Oil tank with rough paint. Groovy "king & queen" seat in fair shape, fits a keg underneath just right. I had the idea of installing a hinge at the front of the seat to tip it forward, then saw the keg in half and convert it to a BBQ grille. I also had the idea of making up two "quick release" sub-frames with tank, seat, handlebars and footpegs, to have 2 passengers (one over each rear wheel) as if they were also riding bikes.

OTHER - No title, you're on your own. It's very easy to obtain titles from certain states for motorcycles older than 25 years.

SHIPPING - NOT INCLUDED. I highly recommend Keyboard Motorcycle Shipping to the buyer's door, insured. I can disassemble and/or crate the bike FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE.

Price now lowered to less than the value of the engine alone. I don't part out bikes, so this is the last chance.

BOTTOM LINE

As with every bike, project and part I’ve sold online in over 15 years (with 100% satisfaction), the above listing contains no hype, no fluff and NO BULL.

SOLD AS-IS. ALL SALES FINAL, NO RETURNS, NO REFUNDS.

I've lowered the price to the value of the ENGINE ALONE. Somebody is getting a free trike chassis.

Thanx for looking and bidding.

Motorcycle Live and a few of my favourite things for 2013

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

There is lots of shiny new metal on show at Motorcyclelive this year but for me it’s the new Triumph Daytona 675 that steals the show.  We’ve been starved of brand new models in the Supersports segment for years but for me the latest Trumpet has made the wait worthwhile. And if its performance matches its looks then I reckon the 2013 bike of the year is a foregone conclusion.  The sleek curvy nose contrasts perfectly with the more pointy angular rear end and new side mounted silencer. It is lighter, more powerful and revs harder with much work on on mass centralisation to further improve handling.  Few of us have a whole lot of spare cash these days but £8899 for the standard model seems a fair price for such an awesome bike. That said I’d have to consider selling the granny and granddad to find the extra £1700 for the 675R.  Available early next year, and surely the perfect all round track day tool, this beauty comes with upgraded suspension, brakes, ABS, a quickshifter and some nice carbon detailing. The white 675R on display at the show looked even better in the flesh than previous images I’d seen so be careful or you might find yourself handing over a deposit. With no money left from the Triumph stand you’ll need your six special numbers to come up for my second favourite show item the AGV Pista GP Project 46. Although road legal this extremely light, full carbon helmet is designed especially for racing with a huge field of vision, extensive ventilation and superb ergonomics. It also comes with earplugs which suggests there may be some compromise in the noise department but it is still an incredible piece of engineering. At £799, this special Pista is also an incredible price but there will only be one hundred available and Raceways Yamaha reckon they are going fast.

Triumph 250cc Twin Due for India and Indonesia in 2014

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Triumph will produce a 250cc twin-cylinder naked bike for the Asian market in 2014, according to the director of the brand’s Indonesian distributor. Rudhy Siswanto, president director of PT Global Motorcycle Trading, says the new small-displacement Triumph will be produced at the company’s new factory in Narasapur, India, outside of Bangalore which is set to begin operation in 2014. “The factory in India is focused on small engines.

2012-2013 Triumph Street Triple and Daytona 675 Hit with Nissin ABS Recall

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

A manufacturing error by brake manufacturer Nissin has claimed another motorcycle maker. Triumph  is recalling the 2012-2013 Street Triple, Street Triple R, Daytona 675 and Daytona 675R because of the problem with the Nissin-supplied anti-lock brake modulator. The issue has already resulted in recalls for the 2014 Honda CTX700 and CTX700N, the 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300 (and the Ninja 250 offered in Asian markets) and the 2013 Suzuki Hayabusa.
