Suzuki Other description

For sale is the famed V-Twin TL 1000R with the yellow/black color scheme. As with most bikes this one has been upgraded, but PROPERLY using OEM electronics and farings. I have had this bike in it's current state dynoed and at the wheels it pulled 117hp and 68tq (or 138hp, 78tq at the crank if you account for 15% transmission loss). The engine has been bored and the exhaust is a full titanium/carbon Yoshimura RS3 system. I have a short video on YouTube of the bike at idle and revving (http://youtu.be/Gq_P2pI9AME). I have had this vehicle since 2006 and have a TON of maintenance records of ALL work performed on it. Since I tore it down and rebuilt it properly, the file is thick.

I have basically rebuilt this bike from the ground up as when I got it with 3200 miles on it, the previous owner was racing it (and not very well) and had altered it in terrible ways. This bike has MANY new parts on it and I'd like to stress that THIS IS A TURN-KEY MOTORCYCLE. THERE IS LITERALLY NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. I have worked VERY hard over the years to keep this bike mint and as you see from the pics and vid, it's a badass bike and NOT for the faint of heart. It may not be high on the HP chart as far as today's bikes go, but it's very dangerous  in terms of it's power so I caution any first time buyers or those who are looking to upgrade size.

Upgrades:
Bored Engine
Yoshimura Titanium/Carbon RS3 System
Hyperpro Steering damper
Penske multi stage adjustable nitrogen shock
Double Bubble windscreen
See through transmission cover
Euro rear faring delete
Power Commander 3 map tune upgrade
Manual cooling fan switch (auto still turns on at 220F)
Custom color matched TL 1000R leather seat cushions
Polished frame/wheels
Yellow box corrected speedometer (what you see on your speedo is your actual speed)
3" 3-ring binder of the original factory maintenance manual with page protectors on every page (yeah I'm that anal)
Razor brand frame sliders
Pazzo 6 point adjustable racing levers
Battery tender plug-in

It's important to note that although this is a 1998 model, most of the parts are 2006 or newer. It recently (3 months ago) had a tune up that included new spark plugs, an oil change and a radiator flush. I have always used semi-synthetic racing oil in this engine and it's never let me down. This bike's history is interesting (to me anyway) and you'll find that it's not only clean, but reliable. Many of the parts are OE fit american parts so this "jap bike" is more Americanized than most Japanese-built bikes. E-mail me anytime with questions as there are many more things I can bore you with about the bike. Again, I stress that this bike just needs gas and someone to love it. You will not need to do ANYTHING to it as I have already done it all.

Why sell you might ask? Well I've been riding/racing TLRs since I was 26 and I'm 40 now. I'm also 6'5" so it's just time to move on to a less cafe-style bike. That is the ONLY reason for the sale and believe me it PAINS me to sell. I seriously want this bike to go to a good home so if you're a punk don't bother bidding.

This motorcycle is for sale locally so I reserve the right to cancel the auction if need be. Included with sale are all maintenance records, clear title, 3" 3-ring binder of the original factory maintenance manual with page protectors on every page, two helmets (primary is a M size SHOE) and some extra TLR parts I've collected over the years.

AMA Supercross: 2012 New Orleans Results

Mon, 16 Apr 2012

Ryan Villopoto has already secured the 2012 AMA Supercross Championship but that doesn’t mean he’s ready to let up and take it easy over the remainder of the season. The Monster Energy Kawasaki racer clinched his second consecutive title two weeks ago in Houston, Texas, but he continued his dominance in AMA Supercross’ return to New Orleans’ Superdome, taking the holeshot and leading all 20 laps for his ninth win of the season in 14 rounds. The New Orleans round may have lacked some big names currently nursing injuries such as Ryan Dungey, James Stewart and Chad Reed, but Villopoto provided a star effort in the first AMA Supercross race in the city since 2009.
