Suzuki DR description

This is my Dr650 for sale. I have a daughter being born soon and I know for sure I won't have time to ride so the bike has to go. This is a no reserve auction and i will honor whatever it goes for.

I have made many upgrades to the bike since I have owned it

Ricor intimators and progressive rate springs in front suspension
Ricor rear shock and heavier spring up to 275lbs between rider and rear
Mikuni TM40 pumper carburetor
Sargent seat
Warp 9 shifter
Aluminum billet rear rack
Stainless steel engine gaurds
Aluminum skid plate
14 tooth front sprocket
IMS 4.9 gallon tank
Handlebar gaurds
Aluminum handlbars
Avon gripster tries
New YUSA battery

Im sure I'm forgetting something I've added but those are the major items. The new suspension and pumper carb have really made this bike quite fun to ride. All parts were purchased new from procycle.com and i'm actually afraid to add up what I have spent on the bike but it's defiantly over $2000. The condition of the bike is good. The plastics are all in good shape with no major gouges or cracks but normal for a bike 5 years old that is a dual sport. The tires have a good amount a tread left on them. The frame is strait and nothing bent or out of alignment. I have the original fender and fairing in gray that is included.

Now for the bad. I haven't really had to bike out much in the last year and upon getting ready to sell this bike it does't want to crank as well as it should. I installed a new battery and it has improved it but it still remember it starting a bit easier. I can get it started and it runs great but I don't have the time to explore why. It might be valves tight, or just needs the carb cleaned or something but I'm letting you know now. Also, the previous owner said they had an electrical short and replaced the wiring harness with another one from a dr650. He also added a different kill switch with a headlight off switch so he could turn on the headlights and added headlight relays. If I were going to keep the bike I would probably do a better job at tidying up the wiring and either double checking or removing some of what he has done. It hasn't bothered me enough to do it myself yet but again, I'm just giving you fair warning.  If you have any questions hopefully I can help. Thanks for looking

Motorcyclist Nabbed For Going 166 MPH on NY Thruway

Fri, 04 May 2012

McCarthy’s wit isn’t as quick as his motorcycle. “A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.” (Proverbs 12:23 KJV)   According to reports, New York State Police arrested Nikkolaus McCarthy, 25, of Charlton, N.Y., this past Wednesday afternoon after he was “clocked” riding his motorcycle at 166 mph on the New York State Thruway in Ravena, N.Y. But it seems McCarthy needs to learn the simple concept of avoiding self-incrimination.
