Purchased new in August 2014. Was in cold storage at Guzzi USA and watched bike assembled from crate at Matthews Aprilia/Moto Guzzi in North Carolina. Is in ‘As New’ condition, if not better with upgrades. Is an amazing looking machine, perfect in every way, pristine and 100% a ‘Garage Queen’. Is setup to ride coast to coast or weekend camping in the mountains. Rides, runs, looks, performs as if rolled off the showroom floor. Would cost $12k to set up a similar Stelvio. Receive comments every time out. Glad to discuss with a phone call. Have hi-res images on Flicker, will send link on request as unable to post .coms on eBay. Had the ECU reflashed by Todd, owner of GuzziTech dot com. Bike runs beautifully. However, if prefer, easy to remove PCV5 and make stock. His friend and co-star in those two travelogues, Charley Boorman is a BMW brand ambassador, and it’d be easy to assume McGregor is as well. The truth is McGregor, well known for his love of motorcycles, is a much bigger fan of Moto Guzzi.
Piaggio Announces 2011-2014 Business Plan – More Hybrids and Electric Models In the Pipeline
Wed, 14 Dec 2011The Piaggio Group revealed its business plans for the next three years with a focus on developing fuel efficient engines and introducing new electric motors and hybrid powertrains. Beginning in 2012, Piaggio plans to introduce a new generation of engines with lower emissions and improved fuel economy. Examples include the new 350cc engine introduced in the Piaggio Beverly SportTouring and the fuel-injected 125cc four-stroke, three-valve engine equipped in the Vespa Quarantasei concept (which the company has apparently, and quietly, renamed as the much easier-to-pronounce Vespa 946).
Piaggio Reports Q3 2011 Results
Tue, 01 Nov 2011Piaggio announced a net profit of 46.3 million euros (US$63.3 million) over the first nine months of 2011. That represents a slight dip from the 46.7 million euros (US$63.8 million) over the same period of 2010, but still respectable numbers in the face of a shrinking market for motorcycles in Europe. The decrease in profit comes despite a 2.0% increase in net sales, with Piaggio taking in 1.20 billion euros (US$1.64 billion) over the first three quarters.
