This rim was removed from a brand new 2005 Kymco People 50. The scooter was delivered to our shop with some scratches on the rim that went through the paint and scratched the metal as well. We tried touching it up but it just wasn't good enough to sell on a new scooter so I replaced the rim with a new one from the factory. What you are getting is essentially a new rim with no miles on it that has some cosmetic defects. Perfectly functional and WAY under the $220 price of a new rim. This is leftover stock from our now closed scooter shop (sigh). Examine the pictures carefully to determine condition. Kymco USA President and CEO Eric Bondy Steps Down
Fri, 02 Dec 2011Kymco USA President and Chief Executive Officer Eric Bondy has resigned, stepping down from a position he has held for seven years. Bondy is leaving Kymco to explore a new, but unspecified, opportunity, but will remain with the company until Dec. 15 to help ensure a smooth transition.
Kymco to Supply BMW with i3 Electric Car Range Extender and New 400cc Scooter Engine
Fri, 25 Jan 2013The automotive world has been buzzing of late about BMW‘s upcoming i3 electric car having an optional range extending gas-powered motorcycle engine. As our sister site Autoguide.com reports, the i3 will be available with an optional two-cylinder BMW motorcycle engine to power a generator which can recharge the electric motor and extend the vehicle’s range to 250 miles compared to a range of 60-90 miles relying just on the battery. It turns out that two-cylinder motorcycle engine will actually be provided to BMW by Taiwanese manufacturer Kymco.
AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days A Rousing Success
Mon, 29 Jul 2013AMA members and motorcyclists from across the country celebrated the people, machines and sport of motorcycling at AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, featuring the riders and champions of Husqvarna, over the July 19-21 weekend. The annual gathering of tens of thousands of motorcycling enthusiasts participated in vintage racing, took in numerous bike shows, met their motorcycling heroes, purchased vintage parts and motorcycles in the massive swap meet, spent time with old friends, and met new ones, all at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio. The AMA and the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation, which oversees the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame, extend their appreciation to AMA members, racers, enthusiasts, collectors, restorers, fans, clubs, companies and others who supported the three-day celebration of motorcycling’s history and heroes.
