Kawasaki KLX description

2003 Kawasaki KLX 125, stock bike - With the KLX110 neatly filling the role of a youth size bike, what are youngsters to do when they outgrow it? Simple get the new KLX125 or KLX125L. With two models available, these intermediate dirt bikes are the ideal mount for growing riders, whether they are just starting out or moving up from a smaller motorcycle. And, a low seat height and a comfortable riding position instill a feeling of confidence in anyone who rides it. One of the paramount features comes from the diversity it offers. The KLX125 sits on a 17-inch front wheel and a 14-inch rear wheel, while the taller KLX125L rests upon a 19-inch front wheel and a 16-inch rear wheel. The KLX125 is fitted with drum brakes while the L model runs a disc at the front and a drum at the rear. Powered by a torguey and responsive air-cooled 125cc four-stroke single, both the KLX125 and the KLX125L pump out plenty of rider-friendly power for off-road fun. The engine has been specially tuned for ample low and mid-range power and a smooth shifting five-speed transmission means theres a gear for every riding situation. A cable-operated, manual clutch, along with a CD ignition for quick starts, makes this quiet running motorcycle reliable and easy to operate. A high-tensile steel diamond frame with a rigid carbon-steel swingarm adds to the machines durability and lightweight handling characteristics, while bumps are soaked up by a long-travel front fork and linkage-equipped single-shock rear suspension system. The combination of a short wheel base and a very comfortable riding position make both the KLX125 and KLX125L fun to ride on a variety of terrain. Inspired by Kawasakis racy KX models, the fuel tank, slim seat and number plates give the bike an exciting look, while classic lime green plastic gives a true Kawasaki identity.

2011-2012 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R Recalled for Crankcase Oil Leak

Fri, 10 Aug 2012

Kawasaki is issuing a recall on its 2011 and 2012 Ninja ZX-10R due to a potential oil leak in the crankcase. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, engine oil may leak from the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R‘s crankcase from a machined area where the starter is mounted. Leaked oil may pool on top of the crank case and, under continued use, spill onto the rear tire, reducing traction and increasing the risk of a crash.

BSB 2012; Mystic Mac investigates

Tue, 03 Jan 2012

In my opinion, the smartest move in the BSB off season has to be Michael Laverty moving from Swan Yamaha to HM Plant Honda. With a ban on electronics for 2012, and in particular traction control, WFR's Graham Gowland has already proved to Laverty how competitive an EVO spec Fireblade can be - so I’m tipping both these riders to be bang on the money at the Brands Hatch season opener in April. Unlike BMW, Kawasaki and Yamaha, Honda have deliberately developed their road-going Superbike without electronics to give a user friendly feel with good mechanical traction, so it’ll be interesting to see how the opposition copes with their high-tech trickery stripped off.

Video: On-board lap of the NW200

Thu, 19 May 2011

Watch this video and marvel at the utter dedication and bravery required to ride the NW200 Triangle Circuit. This is shot from a 600 Supersport bike so the speeds are considerably lower than Stuart Easton clocked last year on his superbike. 204mph was his fastest trap-time in 2010.
