Kawasaki KLR 650 description

Bought about 5 years ago from a friend at work.  He used it for transportation in college.  Took it to a shop, had all the fluids changed, tank cleaned, carb rebuilt, brakes adjusted, new battery, new turn signals and I was on the road...  Have taken it on 4-5 one day trips with friends into the Desert.  Very fun.  Never an issue with it running or stopping.  I am about 250LBs and it pulls me up just about anything.  My motorcycle friend moved away so it sat for the year.  Just got it back from a shop that cleaned the carb and its back on the road.  Very original.  Tried to replace anything I needed to along the was with the identical part on eBay.   No major work that I am aware of.  Really fun to ride I am just moving onto to the next thing.

We ran a couple of stories last week - both, coincidentally, about new Kawasakis. One was the first peek of the new ZX10R – hot stuff you’d imagine – the other, the new W800 retro parallel twin. I suppose it shouldn’t have shocked us, which story was most popular in terms of hits but it really does mark a seismic shifts in British biking attitudes that the W800 story doubled the hits of the ZX10 piece.

Kawasaki Producing 599cc 2013 Ninja ZX-6R for Japanese Racing Homologation

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

When Kawasaki announced it was upping the engine displacement for the Ninja ZX-6R to 636cc, the immediate question on many Team Green fans’ minds was what it would mean for the company’s supersport racing efforts. Kenan Sofuloglu won the 2012 World Supersport Championship on a Kawasaki ZX-6R, but under the regulations, he may not be allowed to defend his title next season on the 2013 model as homologation requirements in Supersport racing series limit Inline-Fours to displacements smaller than 600cc. Fear not however, as Kawasaki will be producing a special version of the ZX-6R with an engine displacement of 599cc, the same as the 2012 version.
