Per the history for engine numbers by Indian, it would be a 1300cc motor vs 1200cc

I "have not" pulled the heads to verify piston size/height/bore, stroke, etc.

  • Carb is correct for the year as a M344 Linkert.
  • A partial restore is started.
  • DO NOT FAULT incorrect hardware! Current install is a mixture!
  • Magneto was sent off to Belanger's in Maine or "Mainely Magneto's" in January 2016. Replaced!
  • Mechanic who worked on this bike in January to May stated it was in running condition

Pre-Polaris Indians Recalled for Cracking Rear Rims

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

Transport Canada has announced a recall on various Indian motorcycles from model years 2009 to 2013 because of a risk of the rims cracking. But as the new owners of Indian Motorcycles, Polaris is left with the responsibility of correcting defects from previous designs.

1916 Indian Board Track Racer

Tue, 12 Mar 2013

The simplicity of this 1916 Indian Board Track Racer is what makes it so beautiful. Board Track was popular during the early part of the 20th century where cars and motorcycles competed at these stadiums where the surface was composed of wooden boards. It was an idea copied from velodromes used across Europe for bicycle racing and ultimately led to the oval racing phenomenon - like NASCAR - that still captivates Americans today.
