Honda Valkyrie description

2003 Honda Valerie: Black. This is a standard Valkerie with added saddlebags, Revco air horns, highway pegs, seat cover, and windshield and throttle hold. This machine has 91,723 miles on it, mostly interstate. I replaced the original speedometer and still have the original meter. Replacement speedometer shows 26667.1 presently. Garage kept with full maintenance history and service maintenance manual. I changed timing belt, gaskets, all wheel bearings/seals, brake pads and adjusted valves @ 83,000 miles. Has minor scratches and dings on wheels. I bought this bike used with 5900 miles on it and it still runs like it did the day I bought it. I have several spare parts that go with the bike including a new windshield, radiator hoses and other used parts. Existing windshield has two small cracks. Doesn’t interfere with vision. Uses no motor oil, nor does it leak any. Rear tire is what Valkerie riders call “Going Dark”. It’s a car tire that handles extremely well on this machine and it last a lot longer than the suggested standard tire. The left front shock absorber started leaking this summer. Driver seat has wear spot on it.  I'm selling it because I no longer want to take long trips on motorcycles. For more information contact 270-534-5559. Pay Pal preferred but will accept cash or certified check. I will deliver free within 200 mile radius of Paducah, Ky. only. All others must make their own arrangements.

Looking after number 1

Fri, 06 Jan 2012

There was a time when a rider’s number indicated his position from the previous season, with the ultimate accolade being the number 1 emblazoned on the front of the champion's bike. The rise of branding in MotoGP and a rider wanting to market themselves, born from Barry Sheene and his retention of no.7, saw riders decide against displaying their finish from the year before. Rossi, who on winning his numerous championships, stuck with his famous #46 in defence of his titles, instead of stamping a great number 1 on his bikes.

Monster Energy Kawasaki racer Ryan Villopoto demonstrated once again he is a the top of his sport, clinching his third-consecutive AMA Supercross championship. Villopoto cemented his title with a win in front of 43,149 fans at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah, his ninth main event victory of the season and 33rd in his career. Though he led every lap, Villopoto didn’t have as easy a time in Salt Lake City as he has had in some races this season.

Recall for 2008-2010 Honda ST1300

Mon, 18 Jul 2011

Honda is recalling certain 2009-2010 ST1300 sport touring motorcycles due to a risk of a brake fluid leakage. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the pre-formed hose supplying fluid from the rear brake reservoir to the rear brake master cylinder is routed in a way that puts it at risk of damage. When the Honda ST1300 is heavily loaded and ridden over rough surfaces, the rear suspension may bottom out, causing the hose to contact the swingarm.
