Honda Valkyrie description

Up for auction is a beautiful 2004 Honda Rune with under 11K miles on it. If you're interested in this bike you probably don't need a generic description so we'll just give you the details on this particular bike.

We have owned it from new. It has been meticulously maintained. These bikes require regular maintanence no matter how few the miles are. Detailed maintanence records are below. Just changing the oil doesn't cut it. All the fluids need to be drained and refreshed every 4-5 years if you're going to avoid problems down the road.

This bike has been set up for comfortable long cruises. The saddle has been upgraded to an Ultimate seat, far much more comfortable than the stock. A Rifle wind screen has been installed which has a matching red tint to the edges. After market side mirrors were added to allow for better sight to the rear. The hard-to-find highway pegs are installed. All these items can be easily removed to take the bike back to stock. The original seat, side mirrors and cylinder head cover bolts (replaced for the attachment of the highway pegs) are all included in the sale.

Included in the sale are a couple oil filters, both keys, service manual, a battery tender, the very rare poster and the original owner's book in the proper black cherry red.

There are some rock chips on the front lip of the front fender, and on the rear fender. We have attempted to show them in the pictures.

The rear tire is a Metzeler Roadtec Z6 (far superior to the stock Dunlop) and was mounted March 2010 at 8575 miles and has plenty of tread. The front tire was just replaced with a stock Dunlop February 2016 at 10,650 miles.

Maintenance records:
  • 12/19/03 609.3 miles oil and filter change
  • 08/14/04 1593 miles oil and filter change
  • 02/25/05 2495 miles oil and filter change
  • 03/19/06 4012 miles oil and filter change
  • 05/24/07 5015 miles oil and filter change
  • 03/15/08 6376 miles oil and filter change, flush and refill brake fluid and coolant
  • 07/21/09 8065 miles oil and filter change
  • 03/07/10 8575 miles oil and filter change, new battery and new rear tire
  • 09/15/11 9700 miles oil and filter change
  • 06/16/12 10,000 miles oil and filter change, final drive oil change, new air cleaner, flush/refill brake fluid and coolant
  • 04/22/13 10,135 miles oil and filter change
  • 04/21/14 10,295 miles oil and filter change
  • 06/29/15 10,345 miles oil and filter change, replace rear brake master cylinder, flush/refill brake fluid and coolant
  • 02/07/16 10,650 miles oil and filter change, new front tire
This is one of the most beautiful motorcycles ever created. With 120 horsepower and 125 foot-pounds of torque this beast gets up and move. I've got several other bikes and this just isn't getting rides much any more so it's time for someone else to enjoy her.

This motorcycle is sold AS-IS, WHERE-IS. The new owner is responsible for all shipping arrangements and associated costs. There is no warranty offered or implied.

The mileage is accurate as of this writing. A $500 non-refundable Paypal deposit is required with 36 hours of the auction closing. Full payment is due within 5 business days. We do not accept cash, checks of any kind or escrow.

2010 Honda Fury: New Honda Chopper Motorcycle?

Sun, 30 Nov 2008

UPDATE (May 19): Official 2010 Honda Fury Pricing UPDATE (Feb 27): The Honda Fury Review is finally here!!! Some may baulk at Honda’s description of the Fury as “radical.” Sure it’s not mind-blowing in the way a $60K custom can be, but it’s worth noting that not even Harley-Davidson has produced a bike with a rake angle so stretched or a wheelbase as long. So let’s admit that, for the normally staid Honda, the Fury is radical.

How do 1000s compare to the 800s

Wed, 09 Nov 2011

Now MotoGP has completed its transformation from 800 to 1000cc, how do the lap times between the different bikes compare using Valencia and the post-season test as a benchmark.. Yesterday, Dani Pedrosa was the quickest 1000 on his Honda RC213V setting a time of 1:32.186. To find the quickest time from the outgoing 800 era you have to look at his current Repsol Honda team-mate, Casey Stoner, but it wasn't set on a Honda.

British motorcycle design studio Xenophya Design and product designer Ellis Pitt have teamed up to produce a new company, Mac Motorcycles. Based out of Upton-Upon-Severn in Worcestershire, England, Mac Motorcycles will produce a line of bikes powered by Buell’s air-cooled single cylinder 492cc engines used in the Blast, with a tubular backbone frame. On the company’s website, Pitt describes its bikes as being simple to maintain, include references and details from choppers and bobbers and feature “Harley posture, flat-track manners, Ducati handling”.
