Honda VTX description

This bike is in excellent mechanical condition, i needed a new car and i was insulted by a dealer with a trade in value of $1800, no way, i couldn't do it! mechanically i babied the hell out of this thing, i have at times run it hard, but i took care of it, and i won't be insulted with that kind of a trade in value.  I hope someone gives this thing a good home and i can be happy about giving it to them.

You could remove the aftermarket parts from this thing, get your $1800 and still have a ride able bike, if you had all the stock parts.

SO:

2002 VTX 1800 Honda

31,000 Miles

Currently in Missoula, MT, you either pick up or arrange to have it shipped to you.  I would suggest checking out uship.com it’s an ebay like marketplace where you say what you need shipped and shippers bid on the shipment, If you have a little patience you can usually get an awesome deal.

Excellent mechanical condition as you would expect from a Honda.  The only problem it has ever given me was the Stator and a fuel regulator. (both were fixed when the issues came up).  It’s a rock solid beast of a bike that I expected to never have to sell, I bought it brand new – broke it in properly, and no one other than maybe a mechanic who was working on it has ever ridden it.

Custom Corbin Aftermarket touring (two backrest) seat, recently (last season) refurbished to â€?brand new’ condition.  - This in itself is worth $1000 (check other ebay listings for just the seat)

3 inch handlebar risers (to let you sit back in your custom seat).

Roadhouse custom exhaust.

Kuyrakian Hypercharger

Power commander with an actual custom dyno fuel mapping, not an uploaded map, but one specifically made for this bike, with these mods, by a professional.  101 Ft/lbs torque AT THE REAR WHEEL – I can’t remember what the HP was, but HP isn’t the real measure of an engine anyway.

Aftermarket Tachometer (X doesn’t come with one stock – don’t ask me why)

Full windshield

Custom handlebar grips with a built in throttle rocker’.

Comes with a bike cover.

Saddle bag mounting brackets (See condition as to why no saddle bags).

Rubber on the tires is good, I don’t know percentages but they both have to be ~ 50% of their useful life remaining.

Other than the paint, I babied this thing, changed the oil at or before every 3000 miles, and always when the bike was hot to keep the gunk out of it…(if you don’t know always change your oil when the engine is hot).

I’ve changed ALL the fluids in it twice even though they say you don’t need to (breaks, clutch, gear oil, coolant etc.)

A Dizzying Lap Of Imola + Video

Wed, 14 May 2014

Nilox, the action camera sponsor for World Superbike, makes it a point to film an on-board lap of each track on the calendar before each race weekend. A few weeks ago we brought you footage of Giuliano Rovelli lapping a Honda CBR1000RR SP around Assen. This week Rovelli is back, this time aboard a Kawasaki ZX-10R, giving us a rapid tour of Imola, the track made famous by the tragic passing of Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna 20 years ago, and also by the legendary battle between Troy Bayliss and Colin Edwards in 2002 which decided the championship.

2014 LA Calendar Motorcycle Show Concourse d’ Elegance Report

Wed, 06 Aug 2014

The 2014 edition of the LA Calendar Motorcycle Show continued its now 23-year tradition as the premier outdoor streetbike event in America with producer photographer Jim Gianatsis moving the show this year to the beautiful green lawns of the Malibu Golf Course among the twisty canyon roads in the Santa Monica Mountains alongside the Pacific Ocean. Highlighting this year’s exciting activities was the emergence of another new and soon to be renown custom bike builder to the sport for which the Calendar Show is known for cultivating. Taking Best of Show in this year’s Calendar Bike Building Championship was Calin Senciac’s Imagine Vehicles International / ImagineVehicles.com motorsports fabrication shop with an incredible custom billet aluminum designed chassis built by Terry Ward and the shop crew, housing a legendary 1979 Honda CBX 1047cc air-cooled in-line 6-cylinder engine.

Remember push starts?

Fri, 18 Nov 2011

Alongside the most stunning collection of race and road bikes at their Motegi museum, next to some race bikes, Honda also has a step by step guide on most aspects of riding. I photographed the wonderful text on push starting but I also have lots of equally hilarious instructions on cornering braking and even what a riders goal should be. Watch this space...... oh, and hopefully see you at the NEC over the next ten days!
