Honda Shadow description

I ENJOY RESTORING AND REFURBISHING OLDER BIKES.  FOR THE PAST 2 MONTHS I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON THIS 1987 VT700C HONDA SHADOW AND IT IS NOW READY TO GO.  THE BIKE WAS ORIGINALLY OWNED BY A FAMILY OF ADULT RIDERS AND HAD BEEN GARAGED FOR AT LEAST THE PAST 2 YEARS.  I SPENT MANY HOURS POLISHING AND RUST REMOVING TO GET IT IN DECENT SHAPE BODY WISE AND IT COULD STILL USE A LITTLE WORK.   IT NEEDS A RIGHT SIDE COVER BUT THAT DOESN’T IMPAIR OPERATIONS, LOOK FOR ONE ON EBAY.  I LEFT THE DEAD HEAD STICKER ON BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT LOOKED COOL, BUT IT CAN BE EASILY REMOVED.  BONUS! ALSO INCLUDED: A BRAND NEW NELSON - RIGG COVER  AND, A CLYMER SERVICE, REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL!

MECHANICALLY, THE BIKE RUNS GREAT.  A LITTLE OVER 15,000 ORIGINAL MILES.  SHAFT DRIVEN WITH TIRES AT ABOUT 80% TREAD LEFT.  ELECTRIC STARTER, STARTS RIGHT UP WITH BATTERY BOUGHT JUST BEFORE BIKE WAS STORED.  HAS NEW WINDSHIELD, NEW MIRRORS, NEW HIGH PERFORMANCE IRRIDIUM NGK SPARK PLUGS, FRESH REDLINE 10/40 SYNTHETIC OIL AND NEW OIL FILTER, NEW FUEL AND AIR FILTER ALL ELECTICAL LIGHTS, GAUGES ETC. WORK FINE.  AND, TO MAKE SURE, I TOOK THE BIKE TO THE LOCAL HONDA MOTORCYCLE DEALER TO GIVE IT A COMPLETE CHECK OVER AND THEY CERTIFED IT READY FOR THE ROAD.

GREAT LITTLE CRUISER JUST NEEDS A RIDER.  PLEASE EMAIL ANY QUESTIONS.  LOCAL PICKUP PREFERRED BUT WILL SHIP.  BUYER TO PAY ALL SHIPPING COSTS AND MAKE ALL ARRANGEMENTS.

Jeremy Burgess Out and Silvano Galbusera In as Valentino Rossi’s Crew Chief

Mon, 11 Nov 2013

Valentino Rossi has parted ways with longtime crew chief Jeremey Burgess, ending a partnership that extended across 14 years and three different manufacturers while capturing seven MotoGP and 500cc Grand Prix World Championships. Burgess will be replaced by Louis CK lookalike Silvano Galbusera, a veteran crew chief and mechanic whose most extensive experience comes from World Superbike and Supersport racing. As crew chief and/or technical director, Galbusera has worked with an impressive roster of riders including Troy Corser, Noriyuki Haga, Cal Crutchlow and Ben Spies.

WSBK: 2012 Moscow Results

Mon, 27 Aug 2012

The historic race first-ever World Superbike Championship round in Russia provided plenty of drama with several top riders crashing out of both races and a new leader emerge in the chase for the 2012 WSBK Championship. Superpole qualifying made for four different manufacturers lining up in the first row of the grid, with Carlos Checa taking pole position for Althea Ducati ahead of Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes, Aprilia‘s Eugene Laverty and BMW rider Leon Haslam. A slightly damp and unfamiliar track likely contributed to a number of crashes and collisions.
