1999 Honda Goldwing GL1500 SE ASPENCADE. 50TH ANNIVERSARY with only 14700 miles.   A friend whose long Buddy died had this motorcycle and it sat in his Garage for  over 6 years.  I purchased it after the Estate was settled.        I replaced the gas tank, fuel filter, fuel pump, front and rears tires, windshield (scratched up from sitting in garage) , changed oil and filter and all fluids, new grease in differential, ....and just basically went over everything on the entire bike.  I have rode it and put over  50 miles on it.   Everything works, the cruise control, the radio, and  EVEN HAS REVERSE!.      Air Ride   AND   Cover for Radio   (not shown),    Wings  (air deflectors  ...not shown )     Back  Rest    (not shown).  OWNERS MANUEL IS IN BEAUTIFUL CONDITION.                                    If you have any questions,  I am the shop from  7am  to 6pm  and will check  emails  all day long....and/or  if you need additional photos.   Now, there are some scratches from sitting in the garage and items getting piled up around it.                 LOCAL PICK UP  and/or  YOU arrange shipping, WE CAN HELP get this MC  ready for pick-up/ transport....for you.      .   Cash on delivery!    Thank you and good bidding!

Video: Honda Crossrunner v mountain pass

Fri, 01 Apr 2011

This road (the one in the video) was a previously unseen, super-steep mountain pass which needed first gear for the hairpins and second between them with an occasional grab at third on the quicker sections. It was the sort of road that pumps up your forearms and makes you crane your neck to see what's coming next (mainly cyclists). The surface was rubbish.

Back in the day, the All Japan 500cc Championship at Tsukuba

Fri, 24 Jun 2011

This ‘you tube’ gem sent to me recently brought back some funny memories from the scary but incredibly exciting days of 500cc two stroke racing. This particular race was the final round of the All Japan 500cc Championship at Tsukuba Circuit where I enjoyed a head to head battle with national hero Tadahiko Taira. Yamaha’s favourite son at the time, ‘tie wrap’ as we liked to call him, was taller and better looking than most Japanese riders (maybe a war baby?) and went on to win nearly everything in Japan during his career.

Data Analysis From Marc Marquez’ 200 MPH Mugello Crash

Mon, 03 Jun 2013

The chart above is the data recovered from the Alpinestars racing suit of Repsol Honda Rider Marc Marquez after he crashed during practice on the front straight at this weekend’s MotoGP round at Mugello (click the pictures below for an enlarged view) while traveling 209 mph. This information is recorded for all Alpinestars suits equipped with the Tech-Air airbag technology. In case you’re curious about the effectiveness of airbags in leather suits, and the severity of impacts experienced during a 200 mph getoff, let’s examine the data.
