Honda Gold Wing description

1988 Honda Goldwing 1500, only 34,525 miles!!  Awesome bike, I'm only the 3rd private owner.  I bought this bike 2 years ago and immediately installed the luggage rack and took it on a 2,500 mile great lakes road trip and had a blast. When I returned home to Kentucky I changed the tires, replaced the fork springs and added the dual air shocks.   The bike only had 26,000 miles when I bought it and it was 26 years old, so only 1,000 miles a year.  It was babied for sure.  Maintenance records were impeccable and I have maintained it well too.   Has a couple little scratches but they are not very noticeable.  The only scratches that are immediately noticeable are on the left hand side of the windshield which I just did recently while shining it up to get it ready for sale, they are not too distracting from behind when riding.  Two tone brown, haven't seen many like it.  She's all cleaned up, shined up, polished and has a fresh oil change and filter. Make a reasonable offer, call me at 895-537-8514 with any questions or message me.  Buyer is responsible for shipping.  I would be willing to deliver if you are within 500 miles of Lexington, KY for a cost of $500.00.  I will require a deposit of $500 within 24 hours of successful bid and the balance within 72 hours of auction close.  I hate to sell this bike but as a disabled veteran I'm losing more muscular ability each year and I don't want to drop this bike.  Hope she finds a great home where she will be appreciated and ridden often as that is what they are built for.  This one runs and rides great and is ready to take out on the road now!!  Riding season is finally here come get her!!

To chrome her out check out some of my other auctions on the custom chrome accessories for Goldwing 1500s most of which are still in the original packaging!  If they aren't up right away they will be within the next 48 hours!!

Thanks for your interest!!!

Schoolboy Heroes

A wet and grey day in Calais in 1992 wouldn’t be the obvious situation for a life changing experience, but for a 11 year old lad on a boring booze cruise from Dover this is exactly what happened. Pockets bulging with funny money I headed to the Tabac for the obligatory bangers, dirty playing cards and some sweets.  Then it happened, I stood in front of the magazine rack and reached up, as if drawn by an external force.  At the time I wasn’t tall enough for Playboy or L’ Escort so settled for a copy of Moto Verte, the French motocross mag.  Life would never be the same again. Inside there was a double page spread, with a fresh faced Jeremy McGrath resting a leg over his #15 Honda CR125.  Sporting a pair of fluro MX trousers with a, now retro, bright white surname emblazoned jersey, and casting an eye over a seriously vast motocross park.  I stared at this Sinisalo advert all the way home, partly because all the articles were in foreign, but also because I was transfixed.  What and how do I become a motocross champion?

BMW 1000RR and the Honda C70, are they indestructible?

Wed, 20 Apr 2011

I’ve managed 1374 miles on the Michelin Power Pures (mostly on track) and although we’ve had some decent temperatures they still look like new so there’s plenty meat left for another month at least. I’ve been running them at 30psi front and 32psi rear and find they warm up after a few miles but I wouldn’t say the temperature comes any quicker than any of the competition so it has to be four miles before I get brave. I’ve had a few out the seat moments with my BMW but I have got the rear suspension  set pretty hard (8 rebound,8 compression, two turns on pre load) and in slick mode, so 190bhp in first gear at the Knockhill hairpin is always going to be dodgy.

Own A Scale Model Of The Elf5, One Of The Most Unique Racing Motorcycles Ever

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

If you’re a fan of scale model racing motorcycle kits, this 1/12 scale model of the Elf5 racer, as ridden by Ron Haslam in 1988, should make your mouth water. Designed by famous F1 designer André de Cortanze, the Elf5 was the culmination of a radical experiment by de Cortanze and Elf, the French petroleum giant. And even though it didn’t claim the racing success Cortanze and Elf had hoped, the experimental Elf motorcycles hold a distinctive place in motorcycle racing history, with some of its technology still in use today.  Powered by a Honda NSR500 V4 engine that served as a stressed member and main mounting structure for the single-sided swingarms both front and rear, this recently released scale model is based closely on the actual Elf5 racing machines. This full detailed kit maintains the single-sided suspension, with the front suspension consisting of aluminum alloy and springs that will be partly movable.
