Honda CBR250R Challenge Series Announced for 2012 Canadian Superbike Season

Honda Canada has officially announced a new racing series featuring its CBR250R entry-level sportbike, to be held at 2012 Canadian Superbike racing events. The new Honda CBR250R Challenge series replaces the previous CBR125R spec series and will include a double-header at each CSBK National race weekend. The series is open to riders 15-25, though riders as young as 13 may be eligible if they have competed in at least three sanctioned CBR125R events.

After a successful 2013 campaign in the 91st running of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, where Honda’s own Jeff Tigert won the Pikes Peak 450 class and set a new record, Honda is stepping up its involvement for 2014, as both a sponsor and race participant, with plans to field products in seven distinct race classes. In addition, Honda will be working with the AMA and the Pikes Peak sanctioning body on improvements which will provide new levels of safety to the Motorcycle / ATV / UTV / Sidecar competitors. Point six of a BHP may not sound like much but, in my book, any gain is a good gain, especially when it’s as simple as changing a chain and sprockets. After all, you're going to have to do it sooner or later when your old chain and sprockets die their death. I’ve always been interested in what gains are available in the drive train.
