Honda CB description

This 400F was locally owned with 26,497 miles on it. The gauges were nice but show the typical white line so I had the gauges rebuilt to start with 0 as I restored the entire bike. I took the bike down to the bare frame and had it beautifully deep gloss painted after it was thoroughly media blasted. Center stand, swing arm and other pieces were also painted. The parakeet yellow and black side covers were also painted at this professional body shop. The previous owner had replaced, not long ago, the tires and genuine Honda right handlebar switch and seat.
This was the 10th CB400F that I have restored. I go through all the parts and paint, clean, buff, polish, or replace. I always use genuine Honda whenever possible including bolts, nuts, and washers. Even the parts that can't be seen are thoroughly detailed. The carbs were cleaned, valves adjusted, points adjusted, timing chain and timing were adjusted. This engine is the most smooth and the most quiet of any 400F I have ever heard. It just purrs without any noise.
I replaced the front fender, the rear wheel , and spokes (the front wheel and spokes were very nice but the rears were not so nice), Interstate battery, horn, re-chromed taillight housing, petcock kit, master cylinder, brake hoses, brake caliper, piston and seal, Honda oil and filter, spark plugs, re-chromed chain guard, fork dust seals and oil seals, tool tray lid, shock nuts and washers plus many more.
The compression is a perfect 150 even in all cylinders and right on according to the service manual. When removing the pan I found nothing but clean oil, no sludge or residue.
This truly is a beautiful 400F that you will win awards if you show. It just shines in the sun and stands right out. Everything works as it should and there are no issues. Includes as new tool kit, original as new owners manual and  two as new Honda keys.

Expect to see the world’s fastest racebikes reach speeds over 200 mph on the 1 km (0.62-mile) back straight, and bring ear plugs — these bikes are loud! Fresh off a 1-2 finish in the season opener in Qatar, Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi are looking to carry the momentum to CotA.

Day 1 Dakar 2014: Barreda Draws First Blood

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

Team HRC’s Joan Barreda on the Honda CRF450 Rally, got off to a storming start in day one of the 2014 Dakar rally, clocking up the fastest time of all the 175 riders at the first time-check. The former Husqvarna rider who moved to Honda in the middle of the season inaugurated his 2014 Dakar with an acrobatic performance. The motorcycle competition was expected to be wide open, and that is indeed what the classification shows after the opening stage. It was a very early start for the Rally Dakar. The pack of riders headed off at four in the morning on a long 251 miles that took them towards the vibrant city of Rosario for the start of the 112 mile special.
