Harley-Davidson Touring description

1998 Harley Davidson Road King

Up for your consideration is a really clean 1998 Harley Davidson Road King. As you can see from the pictures, this bike is in excellent condition. It has 33,500 miles on it. There is one small little tear in the seat that you can see in the pictures. The tires are in good shape and have roughly 6000 miles on them. This bike comes in the very desirable Sinister blue pearl paint. This bike also comes equipped with a lot of extra chrome, the full touring passenger seat, drivers seat backrest, and rear luggage box and rack. The rear luggage box or trunk is an aftermarket piece, but looks perfect on the bike and was professionally painted. It also has a detachable windshield. This windshield can be taken off in a matter of seconds, however I will say that having the windshield makes for a much nicer, more enjoyable ride. This bike has been well maintained, garage kept, runs, drives and shifts flawlessly. This bike is a pleasure to ride, but in my retirement, I just don't ride it nearly as much as I should and I just hate to see it sit. The bike is located in Greer, SC and has spent the majority of its life down south. I can store the bike for a week or two if needed if it will help facilitate the sale. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. My name is John and I can be reached at 864-420-7109. The buyer is responsible for all shipping charges and shipping arrangements. There is a 500.00 deposit due within 24 hours of the end of auction. The balance is due within 7 days of the end of auction and will be accepted in the form of cash or bank wire transfer, cash is preferred. Bike will not leave premises until all funds have cleared. Thank you.

2013-2014 Harley-Davidson Breakout Recalled for Faulty Fuel Indicators

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

Harley-Davidson is recalling 2013-2014 Breakout models, including CVO versions, because the fuel level indication system may not be properly reading the correct amounts of fuel. As of this publishing, recalls have been announced by government agencies in Australia and Canada; the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has not yet posted a recall but U.S.-based members of the Harley-DavidsonForums.com report American dealerships have already started receiving recall bulletins. According to a recall announcement by Transport Canada, some Breakout and CVO Breakout models may run out of fuel despite the fuel and range indicators indicating there is still enough fuel in the tank.
