Harley-Davidson Sportster description

This bike began as a 2002 Sportster 883 "Hugger". Bike was converted to a 1200cc Big Bore kit. The title still reads the original 883cc so insurance is cheap. Bike has 170** miles and I have put 5000 on since the conversion. The rear suspension has been dropped as low as it can go. This bike is quick, low and mean! It sounds great too with slash cut drag pipes, no baffles and torque cones installed. There is a stage 1 aftermarket air cleaner with new K&N filter installed. The rubber is good.

If you are looking for a "bobber" style bar hopper...this is your machine. Like any older machine it has some minor character marks. I get compliments everywhere I go about the look and sound of this bike. It has a great matte ( Denim ) black paint job and most of the metal has been rubbed out to a brushed look. Take a look at the pics and you can see that this is one unique bike.

I have another daily driver and a project in the garage so this one has to go. Come take a look and make me an offer. I hate to see this bike sit and I would rather see it go to someone who will enjoy it.

The nice weather is here...get out and ride!

Actor and Avid Rider, Lorenzo Lamas, to Lead Charity Ride for Abused Children

Thu, 08 Mar 2012

Lorenzo Lamas, the heartthrob who played ex-cop Reno Raines, a chopper/cruiser-riding beefcake sporting a flowing mane (that most women wished they had), out for justice in the ’90s TV drama, Renegade, is a real life motorcyclist, and will lead a charity ride on June 3 as the grand marshal for Child Abuse Awareness. Slated to join Lamas are actors/riders from Sons of Anarchy, Southland and American Ninja, as well as law enforcement and the general public, on the ride that will depart from Bartels’ Harley-Davidson in Marina del Rey, Calif., and end at the Newport Dunes Resort in Newport Beach, Calif. Here’s the full set of details on the ride from the press release: LOS ANGELES, CA – March 8, 2012 – Organizers have announced that the much anticipated ’Ride to the Dunes’ for Child Abuse Awareness, led by Grand Marshal, Lorenzo Lamas, scheduled forSunday June 3, 2012 will begin with a beautiful ride from Bartels’ Harley-Davidson, 4141 Lincoln Blvd., Marina Del Rey, CA to the serene Newport Dunes Resort, Newport Beach, CA.

Terminator 2 Harley-Davidson Is Coming Home

Tue, 04 Feb 2014

If you thought Arnold Schwarzenegger’s greatest role was in Terminator, then you should make your way to Milwaukee: The Harley-Davidson Museum has acquired one of the few surviving 1990 Harley-Davidson FatBoy motorcycles used in the filming of Terminator 2: Judgement Day. At the time of filming, the FatBoy was one of Harley-Davidson’s newest models, and the one now in the Museum’s permanent collection was ridden by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1991 action classic. “Terminator 2 is an iconic film and a celebrated piece of pop culture history,” said Jim Fricke, Curatorial director of the Harley-Davidson Museum.

A (Not So) Silent Night from Harley-Davidson – Video

Tue, 17 Dec 2013

It’s probably not conducive for sleeping in heavenly peace, but Harley-Davidson has released a Christmas-themed ad with the song “Silent Night” performed by the revving V-Twin engine of a Softail Breakout. Titled “The Sound of the Festive Season”, the ad spot was produced by U.K agency Big Communications for Harley-Davidson Europe Middle East and Africa. According to AdWeek, the ad was conceived, sold and produced in just 72 hours.
