Harley-Davidson Sportster description

This is a 1974 harley davidson ironhead sportrter with a freshly rebuilt 1000cc motor from a1977 ironhead. The transmission was also rebuilt. The bikes original rear section was removed and hard tailed the bike was also updated with front and rear disk brakes (gma billet rotors and stainless disk) the bike rear section added a few inches to the overall length of the bike and also allowed for the 150mm rear tire to be added the rear wheel is a 16 inch spoked rim off of a big twin that rides on a big twin axel for more strength the sprocket was offset 1 inch to make it all fit and line up true. The front end is a gma springer that is 2 under and sits on a 21 inch diamond spoked rim that looks great with no fender on it. The bike has all new braided stainless lines every where and a set of 16 inch bars. The controls are a set of modern forward controls from a 1999- 2005 sportster that were purchased new. The bike has a hand tooled solo seat and a custom red with metalic clear paint job over a satin black frame the bike also has killer old school pinstripping done by world famous and magazine featured Fatdaddy Mark Hagstrom. I also have another new rear tire and a box of old parts I will throw in. All the tires are like new Avons. The bike gets attention ever where it goes and has more street cred. than most of the bigger harleys in the parking lot. This bike screams for attention and screams down the road with the s&s supper e carb and very loud wrapped shot gun pipes that will even spit blue fire when reved. The bike is totally rewires and has a vintage style ford tail light and tag holder on one side the bike has no turn signals as not the look I was going for. I am sellin the bike because I just had a new baby and money issuses force this I love the bike and hate to see her go. I have all receipts totalling over $11,000 not counting the cost of bike also have the title in hand.

Harley’s Ed Krawiec is 2011 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle Champ

Mon, 14 Nov 2011

Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines rider Ed Krawiec is the 2011 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle world champion. Krawiec clinched the title with a second-round win at the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals at Auto Club Raceway that eliminated Lucas Oil Buell rider Hector Arana Jr., the only rider in the field with a chance to overtake Krawiec for the championship. Krawiec advanced to the final round and lost to his Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines teammate Andrew Hines, who finished the season third in points. More from Harley-Davidson on Krawiec’s win: “I think this is really a statement on the season, to end it with an all-Harley final and the championship, and with Willie G.

Harley-Davidson Reveals Project Livewire

Thu, 19 Jun 2014

Yesterday we published a scoop on what we believed to be a production electric motorcycle by, of all companies, Harley-Davidson, dubbed “Livewire.” Today, H-D officially announced Project LiveWire as the company’s first electric motorcycle. However, it appears as though our speculation about LiveWire going into production was a bit off base. Instead, The Motor Company is continuing with its customer-led product development approach and letting riders decide whether or not LiveWire sees the light of day. Starting next week select consumers across the country will be able to ride and provide feedback on the bike, helping to shape the future of Harley-Davidson’s first-ever electric motorcycle. While not for sale, Project LiveWire is specifically designed for the purpose of getting insight into rider expectations of an electric Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
