Harley-Davidson Softail description

1998 Harley – Davidson FXSTS Springer

This is truly a one of a kind custom bike that was built by a professional builder out of Florida, not a back yard mechanic. Since I have owned this bike I have always had it serviced by a master level technician on a regular basis.

The pictures do not do any justice for this Softail at all. The bike has had a lot of work done to it and there is a lot of attention paid to detail, as you can see from the pictures.

I feel all of the chrome work has been done tastefully and it’s not over the top like most bikes you see out on the road.

The engine and transmission is original Harley – Davidson.

The engine has had some high performance work done to it but I cannot remember all the details but I do know that it has a high lift cam and some other work done to it.

It has an original Harley – Davidson with the correct VIN #’s and original chrome plated rear swing arm.

A shop out of Illinois professionally stretched the front part of the frame 3 inches and it rolls straight as an arrow down the road, so you will not have any worries at all.

The bike has a factory Harley Davidson chrome Springer front end with a progressive shock. It also has 14 inch ape hangers with chrome hand controls that have a steel braided clutch cable and steel braided throttle cables. The Springer also has a custom Arlen Ness headlight bolted up to it.

Both front and rear fenders have been dipped in chrome; the sheet metal was messaged before they were dipped in chrome. There are no imperfections in them and as you can see from the pictures the chrome shine nicely with no rust or pitting.

The California stretched gas tanks have a flamed skull on both sides that are painted over a custom red metallic paint job that was professionally painted by Graveyard Graphics out of Kentucky. The gas tanks have also been topped off with a stretched chrome plated Kuryakyn dash cover.

From the pictures you can also see that it has a set of custom 80 spoke wheels and chrome brake calipers with braided steel lines.

The bike has few other things like a custom stitched flamed seat made by Corbin. It also has a cat eye taillight that bolts under the rear fender along with a chrome license plate bracket. The rear Kuryakyn LED turn signals also act as axle covers.

I am sure there are a few things that I might have over looked. Please feel free to ask questions because you will never know unless you ask. Never assume anything!

I just had the bike checked over by my mechanic and it is in tip top running shape with no known mechanical issues what so ever. The bike does not leak a drop of oil. There are no abnormal sound coming from the bike and it runs and rides like a true Softail. The engine runs great and the transmission shifts smoothly.

Over the past summer I had new front and rear tires installed, a new heavy duty charging system installed which consist of a charging rotor, stator, and a voltage regulator. I also had all the gaskets and seals replaced on the inner and out primary. Furthermore, I also had an Ultima single fire ignition system installed on the bike.

From a cold start you can pull the choke, turn the gas and ignition on, hit the starter button and the bike will fire right up.

I feel this would make a great bike for someone and I would not hesitate to jump on this bike and ride it anywhere.

If you like to be the center of attention in a crowd or have all the camera lenses pointed at you as ride by; then this bike is for your….It’s a real attention getter!!!

Now for the boring stuff…Yes I have to put this in here because there is always that one person who just does not get it.

The bike is used and sold as is with no warranty

Payment must be paid in full within 7 days of closing of the auction. I will not accept PayPal as full payment. Payment must be in cash or a certified bank check; if you pay with a certified bank check the bike will not leave my possession until payment clears at my bank.

I will help load the bike at my location but I will not deliver the bike or meet anyone halfway and I will not crate it. If you want to have the bike delivered to your location that’s fine with me but you must make all the arrangements for a mover to come to my location. Title has never been rebuilt and is clear.

EICMA 2013: Harley-Davidson Revolution X 750 & 500

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

The Street 750 and Street 500 from Harley-Davidson represent the first all-new platform from Harley-Davidson in 13 years. Built for urban environments, the Street series machines fall under the Dark Custom design and are intended for young, urban riders. The two motorcycles feature the new liquid-cooled Revolution X engine, a narrow, agile chassis with a low seat height (26.3 inches), new suspension, a wide handlebar and minimalist styling. Not all markets will get both engine sizes, but the U.S.

Motus Hires Former H-D Test Rider + Video

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

Bruce Edmiston was a Harley-Davidson test rider for over 20 years. In that time, he estimates he’s racked up well north of 500,000 miles on a wide variety of motorcycles from many different parts of the world. He retired from Harley-Davidson in 2009, but the prospect of helping Motus develop an all-American sport-tourer was just the opportunity he needed to come out of retirement and utilize his test riding expertise.

Harley-Davidson Christmas Commercial

Fri, 19 Dec 2008

Every year it seems that newspaper advertisements, radio and TV commercials for Christmas start earlier and earlier. As soon as the sun begins to set on Halloween, department stores begin packing shelves and websites start stocking inventory in preparation for the impending feeding frenzy that will occur for the most commercial of holidays next to valentine’s day. While spending the holiday with family normally keeps me blitzed off eggnog and most of these aforementioned advertisements are enough to make me want to book a cruise for an entire fortnight at the end of December, this one commercial for Harley-Davidson made me laugh.
