Ironhead. 883 cc. There are approx 350 mis on the rebuilt motor at which time the following were also replaced: Front tire and tube, rear tire and tube, brake shoes, front fork dust shields, footpeg rubbers, speedo cable, throttle cable, dash bulbs, light sockets, battery, battery wires, battery case, battery top, chain, taillight lense, fuel cap, shift peg rubber, fuel line and starter drive along with other miscellaneous bulbs, bolts, gaskets etc. Overall the bike is in great shape. There is a small tear in the seat cover, the chain guard is broken at the lower mount point and the indicator lamps cover is missing. This vehicle comes with the original carburetor (with the plastic float cover), 1966-1968 Sportster service manual (a little beat up but complete), and a Harley Davidson Sportster 1954-1978 Parts Catalog on CD-ROM. Happy Bidding Price: The sale price is $6950 and is well below what similar bikes have been selling for recently. The purchaser is also responsible for a $99.50 (administrative processing fee). Depending on state of residence, sales tax may also apply. MI residents must pay 6% sales tax. A large number of military personnel are also motorcyclists, with many dreaming of the day they can hop back on their steeds after deployment. Harley-Davidson understands this, and in cooperation with Army Special Forces Association Chapter 64, Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle/Vance & Hines riders Eddie Krawiec and Andrew Hines are joining Summit Racing Equipment and Armed Forces Entertainment November 18-22 for Operation Appreciation, an annual visit to American troops stationed overseas. After three years of visiting American military personnel based in Europe, Operation Appreciation will travel to the Middle East to visit troops in Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.

In the new movie, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Harley-Davidson and Marvel Entertainment have teamed up once again, as our super hero is seen defending man kind on the new Harley-Davidson Street 750. H-D and Marvel have had a long relationship, and to unite fans of both brands, Harley-Davidson is seeking candidates to join Captain America as “Agent 1” and star in a brand-new digital franchise, which will introduce a new chapter of action, including a group of characters created by Marvel’s Custom Division exclusively for Harley, and feature the new Harley-Davidson Street 750. The mini-movie and digital comic will debut in Marvel and Harley-Davidson online and social channels this summer.

US Motorcycle Thefts Down 6% in 2011

Americans reported 46,667 motorcycle thefts in 2011, a 6% decrease from 49,791 stolen motorcycles in 2010, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Despite the drop in reported thefts, the non-profit organization representing nearly 1100 property and casualty insurance companies says the theft rate still averages out to one motorcycle stolen every 11 minutes in the U.S. The numbers were published in the NICB’s 2011 ForeCAST Report which examined theft reports as well as recoveries.
