1942 Harley Davidson WLA in Civilian Dress. Alot of Original parts on this bike. 45ci wla motor with aluminum heads and 3 spd transmission. Linkert m51 carb. Starts right up. Original Fenders and Tanks. Rear fender was cut and repaired by the battery box...look at pictures. Original frame and front end, wheels crash bar. Original footboards with the rivited rubber matts. Original center stand. Dash base is original but dash cover is repo. Other known repo parts are speedo, horn, headlight and taillight. The bike has been sitting for a couple years, i took it out the other day charged the battery and it started right up. It is missing the battery cover, chain guard and there is no tool box. the speedo does not appear to be hooked up either. This is a very nice bike and has the certain patina that you do not see too often anymore. REAL patina...not the fabricated kind. I do not have a title for this motorcycle, and I cannot get one due to the title laws in the State of Maine. I will provide a Registration and a Bill of Sale. Harley-Davidson Adds Twin Cam 96 and 103 Engines to Factory Remanufacturing Program
Tue, 17 Jan 2012Harley-Davidson has added the Twin Cam 96, Twin Cam 103 and 2003-2006 CVO Twin Cam 103 engines to its engine remanufacturing program. The program, which previously accepted 1984 and newer Evolution 1340, Twin Cam 88, Twin Cam 88B and Twin Cam 95 powerplants, takes used engines, rebuilds and repaints them. Customers can take their existing Harley-Davidson motorcycle to a dealer which will remove the engine and send it back to the factory.
